I don't think i had a senior quote. they probably didn't dare to ask me for one b/c it probably would have been me smoking a ciga-butt with a quote from the genius Bill Hicks: "Non-smokers die...every day. sleep tight.." not nice i know. but when you get people in HS every day telling you: "you know those things are gonna kill ya right", it sort of makes you not want to be a non-smoker. So that probably would have been my senior quote. Either that or "Is that Peter-f***ing-Frampton?!"

What is it about this one that keeps me laughing at it:

Good to see Noam Chomsky links in there. He is the man, that's all I've got to say. I wish I was priveledge enough to take his linguistics class at Mass. Inst. of Technology. -Lee

IN GENERAL TERMS: NTSC is the format that every station broadcasts in and every vcr is compatible with (that is sold or broadcasted in the United States at least). PAL is a European standard. You can get VCR's that read PAL however, but I do not know of any U.S. retailer that would have PAL equipment for normal home use. On the DVD front: PAL has a higher resolution for DVD formats than NTSC. But in 16x9 the preferred method I've found is NTSC (I believe NTSC is preferred because of it's compression methods, but i could be wrong on that theory) So if you want to save any of your movies, compression and encoding should be in the NTSC if you live in the US and plan on doing more than just watching it on your computer. Hope this helps.

The HQ would like to wish BansheeBrian a happy birthday! He's been a dedicated HQ'er since 2002!

That sounds like "On the Run" from Dark Side of the Moon. I think my favorite is popping in the Wish You Were Here cd & just let it play. it's good music you can ignore while you work and still be listening to some tunes. Either that or StrangeFolk, Conjure One, or Daft Punk.

Yeah no doubt! local hockey games are huge where I live. It'd be great to finally give that mascot a cheap shot. He's probably one of the guys that pushed me in the halls back in high school. lol

I had to share this one... goes down as one of my favorite stories I've ever read: http://www.tuckermax.com/hockeygame.html Genius.

To clarify a bit. I started the site right after I bought my Banshee, (purchased sometime in late 1997). Just around the first few months of 1998 I started up the site to A ) save myself $40/hr at the local custom shop. B ) to create a knowledge-base to share whatever I learn with the rest of the world C ) meet new bansheeriders and learn about places to ride. I started the network54 forums, then switched to some forums I had a hand in developing the source code for; merely as a test-bed for the new forums my co-workers and I created. It wasn't long, thanks to the HQ pioneer's that contributed so much to the HQ community, that the BansheeHQ needed bigger and better forums. The site quickly needed a database format and software that would sustain the amount of traffic and data on a day-to-day basis... hence the PHPBB board. The Invision Boards we're currently on are a purchased software application, to increase the level of support and dependability of the forums. As for the site, excluding the forums, it has come a long way as well. Starting off as straight html (yeah, back in the day!), it was over time migrated to a dynamic (Cold Fusion [CFML]) based platform. From there, not long after the PHPBB implementation, I decided to go PHP all the way. Starting off with PHPNuke was a good beginning into the L.A.M.P. environment (Linux Apache Mysql Php ). But the forum software and the PHPNuke software didn't quite mingle in the member-accounts area. So just recently a complete overhaul was done. New site software, new version of Invision, and some nifty little emoticons even to boot! So you can see, if you're new to the HQ, that the site has come a looooong way; made possibly by all the supporting members, sponsors, moderators, and helping hands along the way. From day 1 it was the beginning of what is now the LARGEST Banshee community on earth. I think this whole Banshee thing is going to catch on.... and the HQ will continue to lead it! Thanks everyone! -Lee

No way on the new Maier look. If I was to change to any different styling it would have to be FullBore plastic.

I just put Gnome on my fedora monitoring box. Doing all the updates and then will install Gnome 2.6. Just might become my primary OS -Lee

To be honest, I haven't tried a Linux GUI since Redhat 7.3. haha. But Gnome has come a long way by the looks of it. I might install it on this machine to test it out. Right now i just have the base fedora install with some server stuff. Gnome 2.6 looks promising from what I've read. (I've been doing non-gui linux for a while now for server reasons, but for the HQ server and monitoring server, Fedora has been mint. I love it) In case you haven't seen Gnome 2.6, here's some screenshots from various users: Gnome 2.6 Screenshots It is said to have over 100 user-requested enhancements.

Running on my 200gb HD/2Ghz P4 maching; bootable os' on this box are: Fedora Linux Windows XP (default boot) Windows 2000 and a beta of Windows 'Longhorn' Thank you BootMagic I'll prob. get a G4 or something someday; since i do like os x, but it'd be a secondary computer. Right now I have 2 boxes running, one (mentioned above) for xp and general use, and a server for monitoring and backing up the HQ server (fedora linux).

orange county Noper. Orange County was good too, but not what I quoted. Here's a Hint: Not only does it have Jack Black but it also stars: John Cusack Cameo of Bruce Springsteen Lisa Bonet (oldest sister from the Cosby Show) Joan Cusack Tim Robbins

saving silverman ???? maybe... that's a great movie, but it's not Saving Silverman. What I've quoted has Jack Black in it though, so you're close.

Unless he posts a reply in this thread, and fixes the situation, I will take forum administrative action on his account.

Ok, here's two from the same movie: Rob: "Sometimes I got so bored of trying to touch her breast that I would try to touch her between her legs. It was like trying to borrow a dollar, getting turned down, and asking for 50 grand instead" and Rob: "Is that Peter-F**king-Frampton?!" and just because it's one of my fav. movies I'm throwing in a 3rd... yes all 3 from the same movie. Barry: "Don't tell anyone you don't own 'Blonde on Blonde'. It's gonna be okay." What movie is THIS!?

"We're gonna eat a dolphin!" That would be Multiplicity Along with "I like Pizza" and "Did you bring me a monkey?"

Amen brotha. Imports are the way to go. Especially girls that were actually born in another country & moved to the states, because if the country they came from doesn't have the freedoms and options we have here; when they come here, they're not spoiled brats who whine about every little thing. They're so happy to be here that they make great companionship. BULLSHIT, my old lady was born in korea and she was still a bitch............and her parents are german which is a thousand times worst...........yeah she's still a bitch........ Oh, my bad. Guess there are exceptions to every rule.

awww man! that was this weekend. It completely crept up on me.

Stateside women, a good number of them, have been able to get what they want when they want, so an ordinary average guy gets shat on by them when they can't have their way... uggg. It's a gamble. -Lee
