KaosBanshee44 Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 It's junk and looks like crap sitting on top of the stock carbs. It's a Throttle Over Ride System incase your slides get hung up it shuts the bike off. Get a tors removal kit and install the idle screws i don't know one person that still runs tors. Quote
Dinner Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 It's a Throttle Over Ride System incase your slides get hung up it shuts the bike off. And chances are, your slides will stick and your engine will run away from you, cause the TORS do nothing except screw up :ermm: Quote
skater38053 Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 thanks guy i didnt think they did anything,i just wanted to check with you banshee experts,im more of a yamaha motorcycle mechanic, ive always wanted a banshee and this is going to be a great project ill put pics up and keep you guys informed with the progress Quote
Jeepermc Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 I removed mine cause they were causing the bike to die at innopportune times...Really annoying...Turns out my throttle was sticking and the TORS were doing their job. The next time I rode after removing them it stuck wide open riding a wheelie across the face of a big dune at Winchester Bay, OR... Cartwheeled me and the bike.... Thank goodness for tethers..... I still don't run em but........... Quote
Animalman294 Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Ya, I'd ditch the TORS myself, they are more headache than they are worth...................... Quote

jamebo Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Mine are still on like I got it from the dealership. Haven't had any problems with it, but I don't have a whole lot of hours on it due to lack of close riding areas. If I lived on some land, I'd sure be riding daily! But I don't have any engine work, either. I may look into removing them when I do my first rebuild. (along with PORTING!) Quote
BansheeRider71 Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 I removed mine last week actually, lol, since mine is all tore down an im modding the quad an everything, T.O.R.S. never gave me problems on my shee because I have only put 15 hrs on it an I bought it brand new last year, I have been extremely busy, But the main reason its its just a waste of space an it makes the carbs hard to work on an its just a bunch of crap that the bike doesnt need to make it run, also when I had my 03 Blaster even though I bought it new back in 03 after I did some mods an I left the T.O.R.S. on there an after I washed it one day after riding it wouldnt start because somehow there was water in there an from that day on it would cut the throttle off sometimes, after that I swore that if I ever had a Banshee or another Blaster the T.O.R.S. would be gone. Animalman294 Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Ya, I never had any problems with mine, but why tempt fate.................? Quote
blk02banshee Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 The only legitimate reason it get rid of the tors, is if upgrading the carbs, or throttle. The only people that have problems with them, are the ones that don't know how to adjust their carbs and cables properly. Just saying it like it is! Quote
