moood Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 hey guys, like it says. I hear many rumors that prolonged street riding hurts the banshee. I hear that its cuz the oil and and gas do not mix as much as well as in rigged terrain (desert). Ive always suspected, but is that true? Quote
theshee Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Its fine... Think about how much gas sloushes while moving, it will not seperate. Quote

Ive been racing down the roads for the whole time going to parties, trail to trail, running from troopers and sheriffs, etc. I just try to let off every now and again. I havn't had any problems yet. hopefully i didnt just jinx myself lol Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 I will say this though, don't ride your bike 6th gear wide open for a half mile or longer and wonder why you have a hole in your piston, lol Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 whoever told you this rumor needs slapped in the face 7 times. And a swift kick in the nuts! Quote
kotin6 Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 I will say this though, don't ride your bike 6th gear wide open for a half mile or longer and wonder why you have a hole in your piston, lol I used to ride mine to work in Italy. And anywhere else I wanted to go. It took alot more then that to blow it up and I was using shit oil. Quote
dawarriorman Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Holding the clutch in while you continue to roll can screw stuff up. And asphalt eats tires. Other than that, no, it will be fine. Quote
brian Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 ride mine in the neighborhood all the time. never had a problem with the shee..... just the neighbors !!! LOL :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Quote
csrmel Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 banshee isnt really geared for street riding. you need taller gears to keep the rpm's down on highways and such. the premix wont matter. lots of rz350's and other 2 stroke street bikes convert to premix. dirt tyres wear out rather quick on the street. espically when used with the typical 2-5psi. if you do a lot of street riding, grab a needle bearing clutch saver. Dave I. Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 only thing I can think of is it might be harder on the rear axle when turning. the inside tire is trying to turn faster than the outside tire causing a twist on the axle. Im not sure there is enough weight on the tires to really matter though. Quote
