fastbanshee8
I had that happen years ago on a car of mine, and it was because of a broken belt in one of the tires. We didn't find it, until I had a flat, and went to get it fixed. I ended up buying a new tire.

peterlocal22
if it was the belt or tie rods wouldnt the shaking continue evan after 65 mph? Edited October 21, 2007 by peterlocal22
fastbanshee8
if it was the belt or tie rods wouldnt the shaking continue evan after 65 mph? When the belt in the tire broke, it only had the "shakes", between 45, and 60 MPH. It was fine at lower speeds, and fine at higher speeds, but it hated certain speeds. 91banshee
get them balanced . you could have lost a weight on one of the tires and they will shake at that speed out of balance
RoostRocket
i have a piece of shit honda for my daily driver and it has done that for a couple of years now...
wacko2000
I would say get them re-balanced also. I had a set of 22's on my truck and I was doing the same thing, they rebalanced them and I was all good... I think I was missing a weight on one of the rims.. dogboystoy
More likely than not one or more tire are out of balance (like it has already been said). That is the cheapest and easiest check for your tires.
bansheeseat$$
Spend the extra money and have a road force balance done on them. That way they can actually check for laderal, radial run out, bent wheels, seperated cords and get the actuall road force pounds of the tire and match mount the tires to get the road force pounds down to minimum amounts. You will notice the difference as soon as you get up to freeway speeds. 13bturbofc
either your wheels need balenced or... do you drive through mud alot? check the back side of the rims and see if there is mud caked in them the mud is enough to throw them off balance ive seen it a hundred times
peterlocal22
i checked the back and there clean. when i really lay on the gas from 40 to 80 you dont feel the vibration, but when i slowely go from 40 to 80 you will feel the shake at 55 to 65 then when i slow down same thing shakes at 55 to 65? weird. ill get the wheels checked tomorrow. wee can i get the road force balance? thanks

Dinner
And if it's not your tires, could be your drive-shaft as well.
