pepehaha Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 what is caliper please? How to remove it? Pleaseeee Quote
RIPRuck Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 The brake caliper is the piece that squeezes a piston to lock onto your brake rotor. Its sitting up front in that pic on top of your rotor. Quote
pepehaha Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 Thanx, but that is not te problem. I unmounted bolts from the caliper and still impossible to unmount the highlighted part Ther must be something else which protect the highlighted part from unmounting ( Quote
RZBansheeMan Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 If you removed the caliper bolts, you should be able to wiggle the caliper off from the rotor, and then I would "lightly" tap the hub with a small hammer and pull on it by hand. It should come off from there. Quote

RZBansheeMan Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Well, if you took the 2 caliper bolts out, then you should be able to get the whole hub assembly to come out just a little bit ( enough to clear the rock shield )then get your caliper off. Now the hub should come off. Quote
pepehaha Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 I have that 2 caliper bolts off, but its still like sticked together, maybe the hammer should help...I will try Quote
pepehaha Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 tried hammer and nothing happend... the highlighted part didn't move a milimeter... ((((( Please, what to do now? Quote
pepehaha Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 Is here somebody who has succesfully done this operation? Thanks Quote
White06Shee Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Hey, Like What Everyone Has been Telling You, Take Off The 2 Bolts Holding On The Brake Caliper( The Think That Hold The Brake Pads in) And The Caliper Will Slide Out From The Rotor, And Than The Hub That You Have Highlited Will Slide Off The Spindle Quote
bigboybanshee Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Give it a good whack with the rubber mallet. Not just a few taps, whack it good...with a rubber mallet you shouldn't damage it either. If you have removed the brake caliper from the rotor, and you've removed the nut that holds the hub (part highlighted), then there is nothing else to keep that hub from coming off. If you need some more leverage, mount the wheel back on the hub and use the wheel to help pull the hub off. Quote
pepehaha Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 Thanks all for ansvers. But Iam still unsuccesfull. Next pic: so i removed that 2 bolts(blue highlight) but I still cannot remove the brake caliper (black highlight) because of that red highlighted thing, which is impossible to demount, because 2 bbolts of it are between the brake disc and that red highlighted thing. Please help me :'( Quote
