Welding on the frame

I am repairing a broken foot peg mount and need to throw down a few beads with the mig.

 

My motor is completely out of the frame right now, but the CDI is still bolted up. Should I remove it just in case?

Unplug all electronics but CDI is safe to leave on chassis for welding.

i didnt unplug anything. just put the ground as close as you can to where your welding.

I always unplug my CDI and make damn sure I have a good clean ground.

99% of the time you'll be ok,, but not worth the chance & yeah, ground it close to your weld

ive never unplugged anything before welding on the frame and been fine. but if you wanna go that extra step just unplug your shit..

I had to have my frame welded about a month ago and I didn't unplug anything. Ran my best time at the track right afterwards :smile:

welding on your no2 sylinoid brackets don't count LOL
