Satsol67 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 (edited) If this guy is for real have him send you a cashiers check or some type of money order. If he says something like he cant convert the money or get a cashiers check then you know its BS! Any bank can do a cashiers check. Plus if he sends you a cashiers check you are in the clear! You have the right idea getting his phone number. Dont just give this guy your personal info without talking to him on the phone. Good luck man! Edited January 10, 2007 by Satsol67 Quote
black sunshine Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 You can have some fun with him and tell him some stuff about the banshee like; the four-wheel drive is not working and It has an aftermarket 100 gallon gas tank...... but you decided you want an extra $5K for the bike. He'll be like, "Still sounds like a good deal......" Quote

Handyman Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Ebay even states that if western union is mentioned that it's a scam...I had a buddy that was selling his laptop on ebay a few months back and got a couple emails from people saying that they would give him $1000 plus a 2 camels and 3 goats just to send their children to college. There were a few others that I can't remember that involved animals for a trade. Quote

differentstrokes Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 I have ZERO patience for these fuckers...one took $1,100 from my paypal account by trying an instant transfer from my bank account after hacking it (this was the last week of Dec.). I noticed something was up and called paypal and the bank and they blocked it. Turns out he went into my email too and blocked all incoming messages so I wouldn't notice... Then, 5 days later, he tried to resend it to himself in the fucking U.K. or somewhere close to it. I had my account closed and opened a new one this week along with changing ALL my passwords and everything else in the world. Scammers are all over ebay. :: My wife got some fucking scam letter in the mail yesterday from a fake law firm in texas that said she owes them for a employment contract from some medical center that she didn't fulfill (she hasn't even worked since finishing college 3 years ago and stays with the kids), and if we didn't pay a $8,000 balance in full we would have lots of lawyers fees. I call to investigate and the bitch running this scam says I can disregard the letter after I told her she's a fucking scammer and that I'm turning her ass in because I haven't even been to texas since 2003. :: Sorry about the rant, but I'm on the edge when it comes to these crooks. gipperz Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Do yourself a favor and forget about that deal!! I have heard of other scams just like this on Ebay. Nothing good will happen for you with this deal. Remember the wise old saying. If it's too good to be true it probley is. Only in this case it definetly is too good to be true!!!!! Best of luck. Took the word out of my mouth. thats my exact thoughts. Quote

NO, you're NOT safe just cause he sent you a cashiers check. They are forging the check and sending you a fake. The bank won't realize its fake until it gets processed, at which point you are now liable for the money. Quote
