locogato11283 Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 sound like a jetting problem. Quote
RIPPEN Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 More info would help.. What kinda gearing you runnin now, what kinda surface(sand, dirt, ect) you having problems on? Are you trying to launch in 1st or 2nd. Does it pull hard/smooth through all gears once into the power band, is it bogging anywhere or just lazy off the line? Loco maybe onto something, gearing maybe fine and you have problems elsewhere.. RIPPEN Quote

sheefreak Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 I think you are a little overpaddled. If your jetting is right on, and motor good and healthy, you may need to go up a tooth or two in the rear. Dropping one in the front is about equivalent to going up 3 in the rear. If you bump your compression a bit and add a little timing, your bottom end will greatly improve. Quote
sandthrower370 Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Posted December 22, 2006 allright... thanks for all the help you guys... i decided im dropping one in the front Quote
sandthrower370 Posted January 1, 2007 Author Report Posted January 1, 2007 allright... im gunna sound really stupid... but the other day after i bought my new sprocket.... i pulled my old one off and looked at it.... on the back it had a 13 stamped on it... so it already wasnt stock gearing... but im not sure how big of a difference another tooth will matter... as of right now i have a 12 on it... just waiting to go see how itll handle Quote

differentstrokes Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 12t fronts are kind of hard on chains IMO because of the angle. I'd leave the thirteen and add a little to the rear. Quote

wesw Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 what size of tires are you running 22,20 what. you should be able to run 20s easy with 13-41. with a port job you should be able to run 14-41 with 20 and take off in sec, should??? Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 That sounds like a lot of paddle to me. But after hearing he had a 13 on there, I'm thinking maybe its something else like jetting as loco and rippen said above. If it has a stock swingarm, 21" 10 paddle, that's going to get a lot of traction and is going to take a lot of power to jump right into the powerband and not fall on its face off the line. Especially if you are taking off in 2nd gear. Quote
sandthrower370 Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 well i have a 4+ swingarm... but i put that 12 tooth on their and im having a hard time getting the chain to sit right... with it extended all the way its too loose but tightened as far as it will go i need another half link to get it to fit right.... any suggestions? Bansh-eman Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 go back to your 13 front and change your gearing from the rear... but as stated above i dont think your gearing is the issue... is your motor stock beside porting and pipes? 10 pad haulers is too much for that motor if thats the case.. your getting too much traction and its diggin into your power Quote
