kubiac3 Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 When I push down on the front and let the shocks come back up they dont go all the way back up. I can pull the font up about another inch. Is this normal, is there something that isnt adjusted right? The shocks are works dual rates and there on +2+1 A arms. I traded them used for my old shocks and a arms. Thanks, I know nothing about shocks what so ever. Quote
Mullet Man Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 (edited) well, the banshee has its own weight that the shocks have to carry. last i remember, a shee weighs in at about 380lbs...and is also weight biased more to the front.... it sounds normal to me. guttedEF Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Sounds normal to me too. I've got YFZ shocks with +2+1's and it's the same way. It's from the added leverage of the extended arms I'm assuming. Also, if the shocks came back out to full extension with those arms, it would sit way up in the front end. Quote
JET 99 Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 im saying its normal. elka even designs shocks with built in sag lower ride height equal better handling not so top heavy.... Quote
bansheerage Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 think of going over 20 woopies in a row and your shock coming all the way back up everytime how much abuse the top seal would take and how fast they would blow. thats why they have play in them. Quote
kubiac3 Posted November 18, 2006 Author Report Posted November 18, 2006 Awesome, thanks guys. I was just wondering because I just noticed it and the shocks are used so wanted to make sure I didnt get a bad set of shocks. Quote
racer Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 its called free sag and is totally normal. it helps reduce wear and tear on the shocks, and is a function of tire scrub and teh weight of the machine. Quote
Bansh88 Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Got Travel? The better the setup, the more you can pull up. Quote

LiftdT4R Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Got Travel? The better the setup, the more you can pull up. I concur! Ever try changing a tire on a lifted truck? Nothing but a hi-lift does the trick, you can jack a scissor jack the whole way up, and the tries are still on the gorund. Quote

LiftdT4R Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 not if you place cjak where you are supposed to. haha I gave up on the scissor jacks a last year, I could never find a good spot on a truck with 37s, I got a hi-lift for my birthday last year, and bought the adapter so I could use it on my sliders. It's nice, you can do 2 tires at 1 time too. Quote
atvaddiction Posted December 6, 2006 Report Posted December 6, 2006 sounds normal to me too when i push mine down and pull it up i can pull it up another 2 inches from where the shocks left off... so it sounds good to me Quote
xLastShotx Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 I have the same exact setup as you do, and mine sags about an inch as well. Its completely Normal. Quote
sanddragon2004 Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 (edited) Are the shocks intended for the +2 arms? Edited December 13, 2006 by sanddragon2004 Quote
