  1. Dirtbikes make ruts, and they cry because quads kill their ruts. They also don't like all the mud quads though in their roost and they don't like being taken in the turns.. I say fuck 'em.. ha
  2. Sounds normal to me too. I've got YFZ shocks with +2+1's and it's the same way. It's from the added leverage of the extended arms I'm assuming. Also, if the shocks came back out to full extension with those arms, it would sit way up in the front end.

    tie rods

If it is has the same thread pitch and is relatively the same length it should work fine. you should be able to adjust out the difference in length if there is any..
  4. Good question! I've been wondering the same thing since I saw them in Dirt WHeels. I'm hopefully gonna be upgrading soon. The new ones do look awesome though..
  5. I'm about 220lb and they do fine for me. I realize they aren't ELKA's or AXIS, but for the money, I'm 100% satisfied with them.
  6. I would say you defintely got a deal. I thought he was around $500 typically? This guy is local to me and I'm pretty damn sure he was over $500 before, which is why I didn't buy from him then. He's in Mesa, AZ. Either way, he's a good guy and has a great product. And for that price you can't really go wrong.
  7. I spend around $350 for the arms and $150 for the shocks. The arms come with everything you need to install them except grease. My next upgrade will definetely be aftermarket shocks front and rear. But this is a huge improvement over stock, and for the money, it can't be beat. I didn't have $800+ at the time for shocks alone, and I have zero regrets on what I did. I've been using this for probably 8-9 months almost every weekend and have had zero issues.
  8. I'm running YFZ450 shocks with my ASR's and they work great. For the money, I don't think there's a better setup. And I didn't have to grind anything at all to make them fit or allign properly. the fully adjustable ones are the way to go. And i abuse mine about the same as he said above. 90% of the time I ride MX and haven't bent or broken anything. I've cased many a jump and have no problems. I'd be more worried about the weak ass Banshee frame crackign than my a-arms.
  9. I've got ASR a-arms and have had them for some time, with zero problems. The guy is super nice and easy to deal with. I would rather have LSR or Roll, but for the money ASR can't be beat. Some people don't have $600+ just for the arms. Plus, most of these are only knock-offs of an expensive brand.
  10. I've got the YFZ450 calipers on my Banshee, and yes they fit right on. Just have to remove the backing plate/heat shield thing which is pointless anyways. And I do think they make a difference, but I replaced me entire front braking system so it's hard to say what made the most difference. The reason for this change is that my stock master cylinder took a shit, and well Banshee stuff just sucks anyways.. I went with the 450R master cylinder, ASR steel braided brake lines, YFZ450 calipers, and EBC pads. And in my opinion, HUGE improvement over stock. I mainly ride MX and the difference is huge, not just in clamping power, but I get hardly any brakefade now, and it used to be unavoidable. I say it's worth the time and money if you ride your bike hard like I do. If you're just a cruiser or drag racer it may not be so worthwhile though.
  11. I gotta agree. There's no way you actually used the "search" button.
  12. This is some childish BS. I know maybe you got ripped off, blah. But take this name calling crap somewhere else. I come to HQ to avoid petty crap like this. If I wanted this, I would be on Bluetraxx.. I'm not trying to be a hater, just settle this crap in a PM or something.:shoothead:
  13. Go to Ebay. Here's a link to the ones I bought. There's a few different one, sometimes I wish I got the lesser ones just because you don't have much to adjust. Either way, I like them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ASR-Yamaha-...652084508QQrdZ1
  14. Sounds like the axle itself is loose. It's the two big ass bolts on the left side, they are notorious for backing off. Get a couple of pipe wrenches and some lock-tite and tighten it back up. Don't ignore it, it's one of those easy small problems than could become something big if ignored.
  15. Did you grind the sides of the carbs for the air screw to fit flush? I've seen those have an air leak and cause it to run like poop.
  16. ASR = American Star Racing Just look up a-arms on EBay and you'll see them. You can get a set with tie rods for under $400. I bought their stainless lines and everything and haven't had one issue and I beat on my bike pretty good. I don't abuse it but I ride MX atleast once a week. Maybe it's just me, but I don't have $600 for the same shit just so it will say LSR or whatever. I know Gary that makes Quicksand BTW, because he lives local to me in AZ. He does make an awesome part and is an awesome guy. He himself told me that the only thing he doesn't like on ASR is their Heim joints, which are replaceable without replacing the whole arm. But like I said, zero problems for me. BTW, ASR does have a website as well, but for some reason the prices their are almost double Ebay.
  17. I've got ASR's. Some people will disagree, but for the price they can't be beat. I ride MX also.
  18. For once I agree with one of your remarks..ha But seriously, riding a burm is just like on flat ground. Sounds like you're trying to be the Fast and the Furious and powerslide the burm. Just ride up the burm and roll down it, it's just a hill. This 180 thing sounds like a joke to me to be honest.. :yankyank:
  19. No they didn't come with the longer brake lines, but I did purchase them from them for I think like $80, I can't remember exactly. And no modification to the lower arm is necessary because it doesn't have the little tab thing like the stock arms did. I know people are haters in here and everyone is rich blah blah. I can't afford Elka's and LSR a-arms. These setup with the YFZ450 shock is very nice and for the money, cannot be beat. I have zero regrets as this is tons better than the stock setup. By the way, if you go with ASR, buy them off of Ebay and not their site. Don't know if you checked but their site has much more expensive prices for some reason.
  20. I have no support for my K&N filters and have yet to have a problem. The only one thing I have done it put a zip-tie around them to hold them together. The reason for this is that unlike sandgrencivic2k1, my filter don't sit on the frame, they rub against it and make holes in the outerwares and filter eventually. They rub on the mounting posts for the air box. So I just put a zip-tie to hold them together, problem solved.
  21. Here's a couple of me.
  22. I actually just installed mine a month or so ago and am totally pleased. I actually spoke with them on the phone and they were totally nice and professional. The kits comes with everything you need except grease and yes you can reuse your stock tie rods ends. The powder coat is perfect and they are just like the picture and the packing was awesome too, which I think is important. Only think I wish they had is grease zerks like the stock arms did. This hasn't posed to be a problem yet, I just packed grease in when I installed them. I know some people may disagree, but for the price and a lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong with them. So what if they aren't LSR.

  24. Okay guys.. Calipers are on, along with new EBC brake pads, ASR steel braided brake lines, and a new TRX450R master cylinder and lever. All I can say is WOW. seriously. My first use of them was at the MX track and they work awesome. Gotta be careful not to do a stoppie. I recommend this upgrade to anyone since the stock Banshee brakes suck ass. Just thought I would let you guys know.
  25. HA..yeh I guess you're right. I was thinking like heavy dirt and mud, but if you guys have never had a problem I'm sure I'll be fine. That'll save me some headache for sure to not cut those bastards. Thanx.
