Washburn Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 http://www.shadetreemechanic.com/michelin_...tire_design.htm I would really like to see how these pan out in the long run. Its crazy what these R&D teams are comming up with. Quote
White06Shee Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 thats actually pretty cool desgn thow bc you wouldnt get a flat anymore Quote
rkc Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 kind of ugly sidewalls, but cool concept. Quote
Bill Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Wow,I wonder what speed there rated for. Quote
Washburn Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 Wow,I wonder what speed there rated for. I dunno Ide imagine they could handel your basic 200-290 hp cars. Anything more and I would think the torque would rip the spokes rite off. ehhhhh mabey not. I guess whitewalls are out of the question too unless your one good pin striper Quote
redneck Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 they look odd... wonder if they can handle a good burnout... They were testing some tires that were decently wide. Wonder if the thinner tires will just fold over. would be awsome if it works out Quote

But then mabey you could just smoke them rite down to the rim. They have to be able to handel alot of tention cause you do come into situations where you have to slam on your breaks and slide/skid in some cases I wonder if they expand to accomidate that sort of situation better than regular tires. This is definatly some off the hook stuff rite here. I wouldent want to be the first person to try them unless I was geting a fat sponcership out of the deal. So time will tell on this one. Quote
FireHead Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Those tires have been around for awhile. They are great, but they do not perform exactly like a pneumatic tire so they tire manufacturers have been slow on the take up. Quote
rynb15 Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 i wonder if they make them for quads :yelrotflmao: Quote
RNBRAD Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Take a turn in the mud and you will have one major unbalanced tire. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Isn't it good year that makes a tire that looks normal but the sidewalls are thick as hell? So even if you get a flat the tire still maintains it's shape and keeps rolling. I think it was the history channel where they said the pres rolls on those. Quote

Yeah I seen a link on them too and read as much as I could about them. They are puncture resistant tires. Boy I bet you they aint cheap. Quote
