hollisatp Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Hey guys, I was changing my water pump when a bar fell out of the outer crank case. It is not the one that make the pump spin with the gear. it is about a third smaller.. any help would be appreciated. Quote
locogato11283 Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 thats not a roller from a bearing is it??? i dont know what that thing is. Quote
RIPPEN Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 (edited) Just a guess but, thats not that little pin that rides on the POS plastic gear that drives the water pump is it??? Kinda hard to see exactly how big it is.. Take a pic of it by a nickle or somethin.. RIPPEN Edited June 30, 2006 by RIPPEN Quote
hollisatp Posted June 30, 2006 Author Report Posted June 30, 2006 No it is not the pin from the gear. here is another shot. I'm going to have to pick this one up when I get back. Thanks for the help. Got a widespread panic show to go to in LA. Thanks guys! Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Sure looks like a roller from a bearing :: Quote
[email protected] Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 just my contribution its called a " pin dowel " they are 86 cents from riva yamaha , here is the link http://216.37.204.203/Yamaha_OEM/YamahaATV...pe=13&A=208&B=4 Click that link, select your year, and model , and then go down to cooling system underneathe the engine tab. From there you can see a water pump break down aswell. Enjoy Quote
watkins Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Yeah.. 99% sure that just the pin that the plastic waterpump gear slips over... just remove the plastic gear and slip it back onto the impeller shaft. Quote
hollisatp Posted June 30, 2006 Author Report Posted June 30, 2006 Its not the pin from the pump shaft. That pin was still in its place inside thhe gear. Its from somewhere else???? Quote
hollisatp Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 It is definately not the pin dowel from the water pump. It is smaller. If it was a roller berring, where exactly would I look to confirm that? Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Shift star pin... I will agree also.Sorry for scaring you.I didn't even think about the shift star pin.Now that that is in my head it is deffanetly that pin.. Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 COOL, now where does it go! It goes in your shift segment and shift drum.If you look just underneath your clutch basket and to the left you'll see your shift segment it's the dowl for that. Quote
hollisatp Posted July 2, 2006 Author Report Posted July 2, 2006 ok, i see it but how didit come out and how do i put it back? Quote
