hollisatp Posted July 3, 2006 Author Report Posted July 3, 2006 Ok, I appreciate all the help. How does the shaft come out? Quote
J.J. Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Remove the shift lever on the other side as well as the clutch then just pull the shaft out, make sure you know in which order the spacer and spring goes. Now is a good time to renew the shift shaft oil seal... shift shaft microfiche Quote

J.J. Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 (edited) You said remove the clutch. Is this going to be hard? Yep. We can talk you through it, but it's better to get a manual though, it's a good investment in the long run. Edited July 4, 2006 by J.J. Quote
hollisatp Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 Ok, Well after taking off the clutch rings, I saw the huge nut I needed to remove to get the basket off!! Not having a tool to do this I waited. I actually got the pin back in and tightened the philips screw without having to remove the clutch!! Anybody have an idea why the screw would come loose? I am almost sure the guy who owned it before me did not touch anything in the crank case!! Quote
J.J. Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 That's a luck! Add a drop of Locktite to that screw. Glad it worked out for you. Quote
