night Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 The Banshee user manual says Yamalube at 24:1 and other oils 20:1. As a precaution I ran Yamalube at 20:1. How about you guys? Is Yamalube 20:1 going to creat any problems for my Bone Stock Banshee? Any advice will be appreciated. Quote
BansheeBrian Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 32:1 will work for a bone stocker.20:1 is a bit rich. Quote
batoutofshell Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 1 quart to 5 gallons is what I use when using yamalube Quote
Master of Faster Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Thats a TON of oil, I run 1 pint to 5 gallons, 40:1 and that has been plenty for both Banshees. Quote
csrmel Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 nothing wrong with doing what the manual says. afterall they are the ones who made the banshee. Quote
91-421 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 nothing wrong with doing what the manual says. afterall they are the ones who made the banshee. 522152 I cant help but think the manual says not to modify the banshee with anything but yamaha parts? I'd steer clear of yamalube period, especially that much Quote
Bansh88 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I'm sure dude meant 1 pint, no quart. I dump 1 pint and fill to 4 1/2 gallons. Yamalube only Quote
racer Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 2R isnt a bad lube. i prefer the honda HP2 personally, but i think they have better chems all the way around. Quote
MILO Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 32:1 here and have good luck. 521966 same here Quote
night Posted May 30, 2006 Author Report Posted May 30, 2006 Thanks for the responses. One more thing, someone said 20:1 is a bit rich, so what does that imply? I mean what do does it mean, my shee will perform less? Thanks. Quote
Rustbag Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 he meant thats a lot of oil per parts of gas. i run 32:1. yamalube. never a problem. I've even ran 40:1 before without a problem. Just feel safer at 32:1 Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 You need to pick a oil that you like and stick to it, don't change around just because one happens to be on sale. If most people are running 32:1 or even 40:1 with a certain kind of oil then you may want to follow suit. The book is going to tell you to stay within safe levels because they don't want to take the liability for you destroying your quad. A lot of the people on this site have been riden' shee's for years and know what they can get away with. Good luck man.............. Quote
