night Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Some people say driving the Banshee on the road asphalt alot will eventually destroy the engine(engine will jam) How much truth is there to it? Thanks. Quote
AtvStunter Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 hate to say it, but as for me i think its not true what so ever. How could you banshee tell the difference between road and dirt? it should be fine on the road long as ya dont mess up and hurt it or hurt you. Quote
NYUK Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 as long as your jetting is spot on, maybe a lil rich on top, you will be fine.we have guys in philly that ride nothing but street. Quote
Dead Op Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 I ride a decent amount of roads, no problems here Quote
Bansheeman1121 Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Well the last time i seized my banshee up it was on pavement, and the 1st time i ever seized it up it was on pavement to, and when my crank blew it was on uphill pavement stretch to, coinsidence? Yes i think so, as long as your not holding wide open in 6th like you would on a 4 stroke youll be ok. Me and dead op used to cruise on highways like it was our job and we never had a problem so go for it. Quote
bansheerage Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 im on the road all the time and never fucked anything up on any of my quads Quote
Speedie Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 No problems here. Mines licensed for the road and I do it all the time. I don't hold it wide open for a long time. Wears the hell out of your tires though. Quote
Kayleigh Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 the only harm in driving on the road is wearing out ur tires isnt it? thats wat i was told. the only bad thing about riding on the street for me is i feel like i have less control...i prefer the dirt. Quote
Dinner Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Im always going from gravel roads to pavement, my tires havnt wore down cause they are already worn down, and they are 8 ply As long as you dont keep her WOT you'll be good Quote
Spitfire Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 (edited) Riding on the road's isn't the best on: tires, sprockets, transmission. I doubt it'll make your bike seize up or whatever, as long as you don't ride it WOT forever. But the transmission's were designed to accept wheelspin, and you're not going to get much of that on the street, hence a LOT of stress on your tranny. Edited April 24, 2006 by Spitfire Quote

BTW, what are sprockets? Thank you. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 i hual ass on pavement all the time theres a abondoned air strip not even a quarter mile from me that i drag on sometimes for a begginer rider i would not reccomend driving on pavement expecially with the torque of the shee, and the only reason i could see it causing damage is becuase of all the grip the tires get and the shee being a quad that LOVES to spin its tires could possibly cause excessive stress on the drivetrain.
