Thoughtshewas18 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 From what I found from researching was 20ftlbs just like the stock. Thats what I did with my new head and top end. Runs perfect and its been 3 weeks now. Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 When torqing down the head start out at 5, 10,15 and then final torque of 20 ft lbs. and recheck it after up to temp and cooled off. Make sure you follow the correct pattern for torquing them down. Quote
8buck Posted April 19, 2006 Author Report Posted April 19, 2006 Any way someone could "show" me the torque sequence? I don't have a set of stock heads or a manual to look at. Quote
biggun6ss Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 It's not that big of a deal. Just start in the middle and work your way out criscrossing like you do when you change out a tire. Start with the four in the center (1,2,3,4) then go to the outside 5 then across the head to 6 and so on until they are all pretty snug. Go ride for a while the double check them. I never used a torque wrench for mine, I just used a wratchet and have had no problems. Quote
Blue Duece Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 it will take you six or eight trips around the head snug a little at a time, 20 lb's over all.......... Quote
steveodo Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 or if you have your stock head the torque sequence is on it. Quote
