Eazy Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Just wondering what brand of plugs everybodys' running? Im new to the "game" so, excuse the odd questions, heh. Mods in sig. Quote
chevybowtie01 Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) NGK BR8es and they get changed every other ride. And the same for my Blaster. I change them so often because I would rather change the plugs in the garage than on the trail. Half of the guys I ride with have 4X4 quads and ride slow. I get enough grief about having to stop and get gas every few hours, the smokey / smelly exhuast, the excessive roost, etc. I don't need to give them anything else to bitch about. The spark plugs are cheap ($1.50 each) and the Shee really likes new plugs. I only changed the plug one time in five years in my 2000 Polaris 2x4 400 Scrambler (NGK BR8es). DIRTMAN350 Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 NGK BR8ES. Some guys use the NGK resistor plug too. Quote
Dead Op Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 NGK BR8es and they get changed every other ride. And the same for my Blaster. 496707 Why are you changing plugs every ride? SOmething does not seem right, I change my plugs 2 times a season that 4 plugs in 6 months Quote
RedRustler Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) i use NGK BR8ES they work the best for me. I have used the B8ES but i was not happy with them. What are the resistor plugs?? Edited April 4, 2006 by RedRustler Quote
scotts96fast Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 What are the resistor plugs??br8es is the resistor plug. Most wires have the resistor built in.No need to run the resistor plug just run b8es.Stock wires have them, not sure what years it was thou.1989 and up I think...The "r" is for resistor. dawarriorman Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Try searching, theres a bunch of topics on this. And NGK BR8EIX. Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I run br9es, was told its supposedly a "hotter burning plug" and they guy gave them to me to try, havn't been changed since the fall Quote
Animalman294 Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I use the NGK's and they seem to work great, and its probably about time I change mine too. I read in the manuel for the Banshee that the Br9es is colder than the stock plug which is the Br8es. Now the Br7es shows that it is a hotter plug than the Br8es. Ya might check into that again........... Quote
Ducman Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 BR8eix (iridium fine wire electrode) is an aswsome plug at first but seems to go bad at around 50 hrs and they cost $8 ea. BR8egv (platnum fine wire) probably similar to eix, I haven't tried these. Br8es or B8es works fine for 99% of banshees BR9es is 1 heat range cooler Quote
Eazy Posted April 4, 2006 Author Report Posted April 4, 2006 Ok, i just checked the part # on them, and they're the B8ES plugs, what about gap? Quote
Ducman Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 Ok, i just checked the part # on them, and they're the B8ES plugs, what about gap? 497174 .028 to .032" They usually come gaped at .030" and ready to run right out of the box. Quote
sweetshee4312 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 just go with what it says in the manual, NGK br8es, i think a plugs just a plug, and it will eventually foul on a 2 stoke, well more then likely....i dont see ne reason 2 spend money for better ones, if there even are.... Quote
