cdwood37 Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 I found a cub motor with a 4 mil stroker long rod crank shaft with the pistons and bearings for 1775.00 dollars is this a good price and what else do i need to complete this motor. I don't want a full drag motor so is this a good option. Quote
iceman Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 i wouldnt say that its a full drag motor. is it in good shape? are there any cracks in the cases or anything? is it ported for dragging? id say its worth it. im not sure what you mean by what else you need to complete it...is the engine complete? cdwood37 Posted March 25, 2006 Author Report Posted March 25, 2006 Its a brand new cylinders crank and pistons. it will make 421 cc's when complete, cascade innovations is selling it. Saya it can make 100 horsep[ower with the right pipes and set up Quote

lowriderb Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 that doesnt seem like a bad price, you can deffinitly figure 1100 for the cylinders (coated), 170 for pistons (if you dont get a deal on them) and about 450-500 for the crank (depending on the deal) so 1750 isnt too bad.. you may be able to get a better deal from other places or buying things separate could be the way to go.. port work on the cub cylinders is very minor so a "port job" on them is mainly a clean up with possibly minor changes to the port layout, unless your draggin, then there are some changes that can be made.. also if your mixing cylinders, like a 14mm crank and 10mm long rod cubs.. Ducman Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 You can get the same stuff from Vito's for $1635 Dont forget you'll also need bigbore domes + o-rings, new head studs if you dont reuse the ones out of your cylinders. The +4 stroke 68mm bore cub set up definitely can make 100hp with the right supporting mods. A local builder has got 109 Hp out of his +4 stroke 68mm bore. http://www.vitosperformance.net/BANSHEE.HTM Quote
2bzy2p Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 no good builder will tell u what horsepower it will make,, they might give a raw ball park number but the set up and TUNING!! plays a major part in the horsepower numbers! 1770 is that the whole motor or just cubs pistons and crank? Quote
