watkins Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 (edited) Probably a hopeless question, but last trip I had 2 identical cans one had 50/50 race and 91 mixed 32:1 and one was straight 91 mixed 32:1. I labeled the cans out there with duct tape but now I cant figure out which can was what. My banshee needs the 50/50 and my dirtbike needs the regular... any way to tell.. both look the same color... or do i just need to dump both and start over, the gas is only like a week old and both cans are full. FasterThanU90 Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 if u take both jugs and pick em up above ur head turn them upside down and put the hose in ur mouth.... no i have no idea good luck Quote
flanders Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 i would just run the dirtbike out of gas, dump like a cup of one can into it, start it up, smell it. should be pretty easy to tell which is regular and which is 50/50. Quote

I've had my fair share of run ins with race gas, but typically the stuff I get is purple. Other than putting it in the dirt bike, pour some of each on the ground and light it on fire. Other than smelling like race gas, it will also smoke a little lighter than the other(a grayish smoke). Quote
RNBRAD Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 If you can't tell by the odor due to the mixture, race gas mix should have less of a petroleum smell. The race gas mix will also evaporate quicker. Might poor the same amont of both in a small glass and the one which level drops quicker I would guarantee would be the race gas. Race gas mix will feel colder to the touch due to quicker exaporation as well. Quote
Ducman Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 You could just buy a new can of 110 put 32:1 oil in it and mix it 50/50 with both of the other cans. That way you know any of three cans when your done will have at least 50/50 mix. It wont hurt to run the bike 50/50. Or just run all the gas from the 2 cans through the bike and start over with new 50/50 mix for the shee. Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 Yes, just buy more and mix it all. It will not hurt the one you run 91 in to have mixed gas. Quote
eehsnab2 Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 Just dump it in your tank and run it WOT till you either blow it up or figure out its running good...J/K I would play it safe and dump it in your lawnmower or weedwaker. Sometimes I'll even throw the left overs in my truck tank if I've got 3/4 tank or better. Quote
bansheeryder21 Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 You can always tell the difference from the smell. Race gas is potent. If you usually use race gas you should know this! I mix mine about 50/50 as well and you can defenitly smell the race gas! Quote

How did you like the +4 timing? Did it run okay and did you notice a big difference in power? Let me know! Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 I agree you should deffinately be able to smell the difference Quote
