digger Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 i have a 2005 banshee that i put t6s on. its got a 280 main, stock pilot, and needle on the fourth groove, and air screw one and a half turns out like toomey says. the bike pulls fine up untill 5th gear, but will not rev in 6th like it used to, i used to be looking for a 7th gear with the stock pipes, now it seems like 6th is too high a gear. i ride at sea level, in the winter, it can be 20 degrees F. and in the summer up to 85. i have a booste bottle, boyesen reeds, and a 4 deg. advance timing key, and the toomey 2:1 intake with a UNI filter. any sugestions on what i can do to get more top end revs??????? icecold_shee Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 i think you would prob need a bigger main, more like a 320, maybe bigger Quote
WAKEBOARDDAVE1 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 make sure your air filter is clean, and if that doesnt do it go up one jet size till it feels good. you wont be able to pull in 6th gear all the time it all depends what your on, sand or hard pack dirt. get your bike ported and youll pull in 6th all day. banshee tuner Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Make sure you are not shifting to early, it is a common problem when going from stock to aftermarket pipes. Quote
greencoloredride Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Does anyone have more input on this? I have basically the same setup and it seems that the top of my powerband is kinda weak w/out the airbox. Should I go up in the mains? I ride below 1000ft most of the time. All of my mods are in my sig. Quote
verdoneracing Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 I have the T6's but dont have that problem. I have a couple suggestions: 1. Rev the bike out longer in between shifts, now it may seem that it is ready to shift because it is louder than stock but these bikes depend on the high rpm. 2. Try to power shift, by that I meen dont squeeze the clutch in all the way, and stay on the gas. it may take practice but it works alot better. 3.Make sure that you filter is clean and that you have fresh spark plugs. Trust me, I ride the crap out of my bike and shift by the feel in the seat of my pants, not the sound. I powershift when I drag but that doesnt apply to the feeling of power falling off at the top of the powerband. I have a brand new clean filter and I change my plugs after each ride. Do I need to go up in main jets? BTW, wheres the best place to order mains from? Quote
Ducman Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Yes, definitely go up on the mains. Probably 310's for over 60 deg or 320's for less than 60 deg. Quote

streetbanshee Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 i usually get mine through a dealer they ususally have them ther Quote
dajogejr Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 carbparts.com, sudco.com, magicracing.com You are too lean with no air box, Toomeys and at 280....try 320 and keep going up. As said, in softer surfaces with just some minor bolt on mods, it might not pull 6th great... I had every bolt on you can get last year before my cub motor, we hit some sandy, sandy trails and no matter how long I pinned 5th, it would not pull 6th...just kinda blah....downshifted and it was screaming! Big Blue Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 When I had my t6's I was running 320 main, middle clip on the needle with a k&n and a pro flow. So IMO I think you are lean. Quote
greencoloredride Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Well, just to start out, I went and bought a set of 300s and 310s. I only had time to put the 300s in but it definately felt stronger. I cant open her up fully though because I store my back at a storage rental place. I think it already pisses them off that Im wheelying around through second. Hopefully Ill get to ride soon and Ill update with results. Quote
