wodeman Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Here's the deal, I've narrowed it down to 3 sets. The shearers, t-5s, and paul turner high-revs. Rockets are way out of the question now, don't even want to take a chance, sound like they're great pipes, it's just overall. I know Toomey and Paul Turners have been proven over time, but all I hear about Shearers are how great they are. Ride sand all the time, I could care less about bottom end. Right now the motor is stock (except for a pair of OLD FMFs ). Which pipes are going to show the most improvement now and then once the mods start to go on? What is the durability and quality of the Shearers? Also, where do the Paul Turners fit into the whole mix of things? Mods that will be coming sooner are K&N clamp-ons, jet kit, and probably bump up the timing a bit. Later (quite a bit later) will be most of the more expensive kinda things, like porting, etc. Quote
ogre03 Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 I'd say if you aren't going to port it untill "quite a bit later" get the T5's. Just my .02 Quote
banshee tuner Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Go with the T5's. They pull great on top and respond well to porting. Quote
RNBRAD Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 If your not looking for a lot of bottom and want something that hits the pipe between the toomey's and shearer's, take a look at the Trinity's. Excellent with mods and the others can't compare to the quality. Quote
sandman4free Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 I have the T-5's and a midrange port and like the combo, but I will be going to a mid range paul turner pipe later. Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 if u dont care about bottom end then id go with the shearers..if u want a good all around pipe then go with t5s.. Quote
odaen Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 I'd get T5's and take good care of them. When you break down and pony up the $$ to get your cylinders ported, you could sell the T5's on here or ebay for the cost of new shearer's. Quote

Banchetta Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 I absolutely love the pt pipes, BUT I require a lot of low end. I put a 4 mil stroker in my shee and noticed that the Pt pipes hold back top end power w/ the stroker. I've got the Pt mids and the Pt high revs...JKJK has tried the Pt high revs and the T5's on his stroker and noticed gains all the way through, but this is on a stroker....Personally if you don't care about bottom end, then eliminate the Pt pipes off the list...If you want all out top end power, then get the shearers. Hands down. They pull further than the T5's.. Quote
