decon Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 (edited) better frame geomtry (like the 250r) some less restrictive pipes at least a -1 swinger and +1 forward a-arms (to move the weight back some) a better airbox design, that plastic flange is a piece of crap Edited December 8, 2005 by dEcon Quote
ozosborne Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Try cleaning your carbs and check your jetting. A properly maintained and set up shee should be a breeze to start. Not to start anything... but ive never had to kick more than 3 times even when its below freezing. TAke your carbs apart, and be sure to clean EverYTHING! Hopefully it will start easier. I would like to see 250r geometry and long travel suspension come stardard on the shee. Wouldnt complain if it had some powervalves either 446064 My carbs were rebuilt not too long back and I must say that she fires up a lot easier now. It's just sometimes it takes like ten kicks, it's not that bad. Only the guys I ride with are like "what's wrong and just push a button on their bikes and then laugh at me. it's fine though once I get going I'm the one laughing. Quote

Do you turn you gas off?(should). If so let, turn it on and let it sit for a minute before you start kicking. If it's been running and hard to start try opening the throttle all the way when you kick it. Quote
2K1Banshee350 Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 even if they didnt change it, its still awesome, but i think all it needs to be competetive are: powervalve radials from the raptor shocks from the rap or yfz yfz a arms and wider axle all but one of these things can be used from parts on other quads they have , so there wouldnt be much retooling needed, but its not happening Quote
suzuki0702 Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 i have never seen a 2 stroke with an electric starter on it... how would u tell when ur ready for a rebuild??? Quote
2K1Banshee350 Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 the gas gas has e start, some sleds have e start too. u must not have been in to this too long. o and the gas gas even has an option for electronic reverse, look it up Quote
Joshtruction Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 my kawi jet ski has an electric start.... 3 cylender 2 stroke 1100 Quote
helldriver Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 the old honda oddessey' had E-start Quote
FireHead Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 How on Earth can you have a reverse on a Banshee?.. I would like a better suspension and a wider rear axle? 446025 If you had a kick starter that kicked backwards and forwards you could sart the engine backwards and it would run backwards. THough its a bit of a bad idea since most people wouldn't like to have to shut it down and start it normally to go forward. Quote
DemonShee Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Reverse could be very easy and add zero weight. If the Banshee was equiped with an electronic ignition that took over from 100 RPM's on up, it would not need a battery. The E.I. can control the direction of the motor travel like mentioned in the previous post. Check out the Ski-Doo's and the Polaris snowmachines, they have been doing this for a few years now. Only weight added is a switch and a little black plastic box. So thats no big deal. Honda has proven that E-start can be added with only adding 6 lbs. Thats not even quite a full 1 HP performance loss. There basically isnt a reason I can see that either of these upgrades would be a bad thing. I was told back in the eighties there was a guy that did build a Banshee with fuel injection. Anybody know anything more about it? Quote

Guy used it for flat track racing. Ive seen kits here and there, but they're so expensive its pointless. Although that was just a regular injection system. Direct injection is what we want. Injector placed in the head next to the spark plug. Fuel doesn't get injected until the piston has closed the exhaust port. Less pollution, better mileage. Quote

sandman121383 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 (edited) hey if it came that way and had all those features i wouldn't care if it was pink!!!!! Edited December 9, 2005 by sandman121383 Quote
WALLACE84 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Two of the biggest things I would hate to see on a banshee is an electric start and reverse(not to mention raptor plastic). I mean if they put that stuff on a banshee they should pry ruin it all and make it an automatic. Quote
