Just got back from a weekend @ glamis, Rode the banshee all day friday and could barely fill my thumb come saturday morning. My experiment with the haulers did not go as well as I planned, had to switch to some Sand stars for the rest of the weekend

Motion Pro twist throttle is how I deal with the hard to push thumb throttle. I actually prefer the thumb, it seems easier to controll the throttle over woops, but the twist wont wear out the thumb or wrist when your just playing around. It was a necessity for me with my duel 34mm carbs with stiffer than stock springs. It will wear out your wrist if you try to hammer your way through a long wooped out sand road.

on my 35 pwks i took the spring out up on the handlebars and the springs in the carbs i shortened them about a half an inch which made a big difference. Just don't cut too much off.

trex, about how many coils did you cut off? i rode my shee for the first time with the dual 35 pwks and it wore my thumb out quick and that's with a cascade extended throttle lever, so i was considering cutting one coil off at a time to see how much it helps, i was wonder how many coils you ended cutting off.

Honda thumb throttle stock works very well, do a search MonkeyBoy did a test on it.

Also cutting the springs and stretching them, as well as sanding down the OD work well.

I have a twist with a cut/sanded OD spring in my 250r..I feel no pain!

oh i cut about 2-2 1/2 coils out and i think i may cut out more just do what you said "going one coil at a time" and you should be fine and if you do go too far you can stretch them back out but it is easier to freak them up doing that.

They do make softer springs for the keihin's. Don't know where to get em but give Jeff a call at FAST Racing. He put a set in my buddies bike and it's quite a bit better than mine.

Pretty much!!

Just keep riding it till your sore, and you'll build up the muscles. I never even notice it anymore, until I let someone else take it for a ride, and they come back 5 minutes later whining about it. It'll get better though, trust me

the terry cable thumb throttle works well.i think it has a different kind of leverage than the stocker.any sporting goods store has them spring grip things that weight lifters use for there forearms. after using them a couple weeks your arms will be like popeye. they work well to build the strength in your hands and forearms.

You can always adjust the angle your lever is sitting on the bars. (rotate it up or down on the handle bars) Thats what I did, moved it closer to the center of my thumb, so I can wrap my thumb all the way around it, less fatigue in my thumb now

oh also ride more, and for longer periods of time, and never hurts to use one of these hand sqweezy things, grip things :D
