just because they put efi on a new motor and an aluminum sub frame on its still a raptor. when i rode one it felt a little more stable than the old 660 and a little more hp and torque and thats about all the improvement i felt. besides i don't ride a banshee for smooth power i ride it because the power lets you know that its there when it hits. i like feathering the clutch and allways bangin gears you actually get something out of your imput thats riding baby and if you are bothered by that kinda stuff thats why they make four strokes.

Absolutely!! I get tired of the magazines saying how hard the banshee is to ride. When I was growing up, learning how to work the cluth and jam the shifter was what made the difference between a rider and great rider. The Banshee with someone who knows how to ride can still compete with any of the new bikes. (except on a mx track, I got to be realistic, the new breed owns the track)

I'm the lone 2 stroke guy out of my common riding group. (2 DS650's, 2 450R's, YFZ450, predator, and 686 Raptor). Out of all of those bikes, my buddy's raptor has had the most motor work done (high compression piston, cam, rod, valves, head work) and to me it still feels the most sluggish. I strongly doubt the new 700's put out the HP his bike does, and it's still a slug. After riding the 450's ranging from box stock, to cam'd and piped, the Raptor feels like a diesel engine in comparison. Yeah, it's got some bottom end torque, but it just seem slike a motor that should've been destined for a 4x4 utility quad than a sport bike. The 450's rev faster and farther, IMHO. I'd rather have one of the 450's than 2 raptors.

the key word in my reply was "IF" i was to get rid of the shee for another sport quad, i'd go with the raptor. my plan is to keep the shee and get a grizz also. but maybe not till next year if the wife goes back to work after having the baby. the only reason i'd get rid of the shee for another sport ride is if i wanted to slow it down a little, and be able to poke around a little more, but still have some power and speed when i want to play around. that and having reverse would suit me just fine. but until then, it's all or nothing, which is what the shee gives me. B)

I have a grizzly and it's nice. Get in too much water and your in trouble. Damn belt drive slips and you won't move until all the water dries up. Everything else is supper though, nice comfy seat, lots of power, fun to jump too!

I killed one of those 700's on my 450 the same weekend some dumb-ass blew it up. I was ahead of him by like 1.5 lengths on a dirt road. I only have Yoshi pipe and K&N on my 450, haven't even done the cam mod yet. A banshee would kill one no problem.

2 of those 700CC raptors on order here.

Both are expected to arrive near christmas, road legal.

Both for riding mates.

The dealer said the top speed is between 92 and 95 MPH.

i just laughed.

and laughed some more.

/edit.

In fact. i would be amazed if it would do 80-84 mph stock.

my friend bought a new raptor right before we went to the dunes...he wouldnt even ride his 450 after he got there..its a pretty nice bike..i didnt like how high they set..but the reverse option would definately be nice....as far as it crushing a 450...no...but he didnt have any problems staying right beside me....and even pulled away from me a few times...but hell maybe thats just the rider :rotflmao:

If he was a true gentleman, you would have won ever time.Even if he could beat you. This past weekend my wife was smoking me.She finally told me to really try to beat her.Sure I beat her,but it was against my better judgement. :bolt: Then again there was a lady on this 450R racing out there and no mercy was shown to her. Then again, beating her didn't mean I'd be sleeping on the couch that night.LOL! :rotflmao:

i just heard from a reliable source that they are actually pretty quick even stock kand will hang all day with a piped yfz 450 beating them more often than not and almost equal to a moderatly ported MX banshee ,which is pretty impressive ,its too bad it only took double the engine just to be competative <_<

what a shame for 700cc :(
