Anyone know what size socket the drive sprocket NUT takes? I am putting on a 13 tooth gear...want to make sure I have that larger socket size! :headbang:

I think it's a 24mm but am not 100%. Hell I just changed my sprocket the other day, you'd think I could remember that shit :shootself:

I am putting on a 13 too. Is it hard to change? What are the exact steps for changing a sprocket? Can I use the same chain? First time changing my sprocket! Please help me out!!! :confused:

I've been using a 1 1/4 socket on mine so thats a approximately a 32mm.

Same here. As for installation its way easy! Remove your stator cover, unbend the washer on the nut on the sprocket, take the nut off, slide the old sprocket off, put the washer back on, put the new sprocket on, bend the washer over the nut, put the stator cover back on. and the funnest part- adjust your chain to accomadate your new sprocket! :D And yes, you can use the stock chain if you are putting on a 13 tooth.

How do I remove the chain??? I never done any of this before, that's why I'm asking! :confused:

You dont need to remove the chain. You can get the factory sprocket off without touching the chain. You dont have to mess with the chain until you have the smaller sprocket on, then you will be tightening the chain. Damn! I just said chain a lot!

OKOK..SO...how did you guys get that sprocket nut off? That MOFO is TIGHT. I guess it is impact wrench time.....it keeps spinning the tires while I try to bust it loose. I got the shee up against a wall so it won't roll....and it just rotates the tires...dammit.

 

suggestions?
