What are the exact steps for changing a sprocket? Can I use the same chain? First time changing my sprocket! Please help me out!!! Quote

As for installation its way easy! Remove your stator cover, unbend the washer on the nut on the sprocket, take the nut off, slide the old sprocket off, put the washer back on, put the new sprocket on, bend the washer over the nut, put the stator cover back on. and the funnest part- adjust your chain to accomadate your new sprocket! And yes, you can use the stock chain if you are putting on a 13 tooth. Edited February 2, 2005 by 05bansh Quote

05bansh Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 You dont need to remove the chain. You can get the factory sprocket off without touching the chain. You dont have to mess with the chain until you have the smaller sprocket on, then you will be tightening the chain. Damn! I just said chain a lot! Quote

quad4me Posted February 4, 2005 Author Report Posted February 4, 2005 OKOK..SO...how did you guys get that sprocket nut off? That MOFO is TIGHT. I guess it is impact wrench time.....it keeps spinning the tires while I try to bust it loose. I got the shee up against a wall so it won't roll....and it just rotates the tires...dammit. suggestions? Quote
banshdog Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Mine wasn't that tight. Did you bend back the locking washer that is bent over the nut? Mine was like that, dont know if yours is. Quote
