PhillipSpearman Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 What is the largest safe bore that can be done to the stock banshee cylinders? I heard that 66.5mm was about as large as you would want to go. Thanks Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 80 over is the last bore you can go before resleving it or running reliable. If you are trying to get more hp this will not get you much and will waste the bores of your cylinders. There are many other things to do for hp. Quote

So I am just tring to find out all that I can. I had heard it is also possible to 90 or 100 over but it would start to run hot is you didnt watch it. Does anyone know of a good resource that lists this kind of information for all bikes, not just banshees? Quote
racer Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 ive had a set out to .100 over before. i do think they ran a little hot though. it always had issues with boiling the coolant over. but that could be a few other things as well. Quote
banshee76179 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I think I've heard of .110 over b4 resleaving...but, don't quote me on that! Quote
super88_banshee Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 .100 is the highest that i have seen advertised...we have a set that is .090 over now. Quote
SuperChris Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I have been running on .100 bores for quite a while. Very reliable if you ask me. Quote
RBD Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 The .100" over size pistons and bore work just fine, even on a built engine Quote
duneslinger Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 i've 2 bikes that are .100 over and have no heat problems but this is the last bore on a stock sleeve. Quote
