I went to the local performance shop and was talking to the main banshee guy and he told me if i really wanted to make my shee quick i would look for a set of rz250 jugs and head. he told me they have extra power valves in them and they will bolt up to my banshee motor. He also told me banshees were concieved from the rz because some regulation in america forces them not to be produced. anyone heard anything like this? The guy was kinda out of it so i dont know if he was just full of shit or what

I wouldent mess with the rz250...A couple of people on here ( minkia,XTShee ) have put a rz350 motor (street bike motor) in there banshee frame.You can make your shee quick without this motor just get it ported.

There was an rz250 or rd250.  It was an earlier air-cooled version of the 350.

The RZ-250 was a "Japan only model", and was never imported to the United States (legally anyway). I don't think the 250 had the YPVS as the 350 did, maybe he was talking about the 350???

The RZ 350 motor bolts right into the banshee chasis. The wiring diagrahm you are lookign for can be found in the following;

Go to the HQ search

Type in "Rz350 Gods" I found this last month and the date at that time was found right on Jan 21, 2004

As far as the valves I am not sure it will work with out them. Plus it makes no sence to put RZ 350 cylinders on a banshee base unless you want to use the powervalves.

I checked out some 350's and that is what he must have been talking about. I just got my shee and i dont really feel like taking it apart again, so i am gonna go with the stock cylinders. thanks

well if you get the tz ported then you haave that much more power.i dont see how a banshee motor can make more than a rz.isnt powervalves the way to go

It really depends on what you are looking for in a motor. RZ's and Banshees seem to be able to put out about the same power with a drag type port. I f you are looking for a more ridalbe motor with a smooth powerband, then the RZ is a good choice, if you are looking for a drag motor, stick with the Banshee jugs.
