German Shepherd Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Im pissed at how ignorent this guy is. I stop to look at a raptor that is used for my one buddy. The owner says This thing is sickly fast. I said I have a banshee. He said bring it down here I will kill it in 2nd gear haha. I left. I want my shee to be able to take all the stock quads like yfz 450, 450 ex, raptor, ds 650, and maybe some bikes 240 cc and under. What mods will not decrease my reliability or make my shee a rocket? I am thinking Toomey T-6s, CPI's, or trinity pipes will be enough? Thanks Quote
German Shepherd Posted March 24, 2004 Author Report Posted March 24, 2004 What does a stock shee horse power run? What will a piped one run? Quote
yamahajunky38 Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 i heard stockers have about 40 horses not sure about a piped 1 hope this helps u smoke him Quote
dirtbike killer Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Fast where? If you want it to be fast in the dunes, get t6's, t5's or PC'S. If you want it to be fast down a dirt road, get some pt mids, or fmf fattys and put a 15 tooth front gear on it. Quote
sredish Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 I want my shee to be able to take all the stock quads like yfz 450, 450 ex, raptor, ds 650... When you get there, you'll want to take bikes with similar mods, so you'll do more, and then more. Trust me, it doesn't stop there! But it's all in good fun. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 I want my shee to be able to take all the stock quads like yfz 450, 450 ex, raptor, ds 650, and maybe some bikes 240 cc and under. if you ride dirt get the swingarm cut, it makes a huge difference. oh and i think bikes 240cc and under wont be a problem if even if you took a sparkplug out Quote
superchicken Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 . The owner says This thing is sickly fast. remember he's trying to sell it. Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 That's a salesman for you. He probably beat one banshee that was on it's last leg and the rider was not that good. I used to go to the sand dunes in albany georgia and race guys with 400ex and craptors and get beat cause I was running my paddles and they would only line up on hard packed clay with me. I would ask them to run in soft sand and they wouldn't. So I went back with my holeshots and waxed that ass. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 modifying...once you start you keep goin, i'd start with some pipes like those u mentioned, a K&N filter, change your gearing, jet it right, you should be able to take most of em, after that you got cool heads, bigger carbs.... Quote
German Shepherd Posted March 25, 2004 Author Report Posted March 25, 2004 I am racing on black top and the dirt. I was thinking at the most a set of T-6's and maybe boysen reeds. I want the power to stay the same as in not loosing any. I just want to gain it all over. Should I strengthen the stock chain? I am strongly considering changing the sprocket. I would like to change it so it tops out at 55 with better low end as in reference to the sprocket. I will proally ad the K&N but I like the stock air box. Can I beat a 125 mx bike? Thanks Quote
H300F Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 you can't be serious? and if you are serious grow some ballz and rip all that 4joke stuff apart, now. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 top out at 55? can you do that Quote
boonman Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Nope. You do not want to drop gearing. You run the tallest gearing your bike will pull. You start going with the nonsense you are talking, by dropping gearing to lower top end and increase the low end, you won't. You will spend more time shifting, when you could be pulling in the powerband.... Don't be foolish. If you got some pipes, had the head machined, and lighened up the flywheel, you would smoke many similarly modded bikes. If you are in the dirt, cut the swingarm, so you get more traction. It works. Machining the head, and pipes will increase power, and lightening the flywheel will let the motor get to the power more quickly. Throttle response. You should be able to take a stock 450, if you ride it right, and you will flat out smoke a piped raptor. 450's are no joke. Don't take them bikes too lightly..... They fly...... Quote
