YamahaRider103 Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 If i have taken out my air box and air filter and i want to just have the K&N clamp on's where do i place my coolant overflow bottle...or is there a way to use the clamp on's and the air box?so i could keep original bottle location Quote
thecabinboy Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 yes buy or make a coolant bottle bracket Quote
MotulMonsta Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Get rid of it and just run a vent line down the side of the radiator. Clamp on on the ends of the carb put a lot of stress on the intake boot. If your not carfull, you'll pop a carb out under heavy abuse, particularly MX. Quote
banshdog Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 you can buy a bracket for it. Personally i just cut the back off my stock air box and used that as a bracket. Just cut off the screw holes and the two mounts that hold the rubber gromits. Quote
knight_ripper Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I went to town on my airbox....cutting the end off and using it for the bottle. I also cut away the middle of the box, completely exposing the K@N. I left the front on, so Im running a 2:1. Works great. And I dont have to worry about the weight on the carbs....cause the stock airbox has those flanges on the front for barring the weight. Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 If you buy the bracket get the one that carrys extra plugs. I got mine frome rocky mountain and it was only 5 more dollars than the one that just holds the bottle. Quote
Im-Loving-It 69 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Or you could just cut the back or your air box of and bolt it on. That will keep the stock place of you coolant bottle and you wont have to spend any money Quote
banshee76179 Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 U can find them on ebay for $20 or so! Quote
banshee ace Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 i just cut my air box all to hell and used the back. it works great!!! Quote
fixitrod Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Move the bottle up front. Heres the instructions http://kuoi.asui.uidaho.edu/~john/tips.html why keep the bottle in the back when it just siphons itself empty. If you get rid of it, you'll notice the rad will get low if you ride it really hard. Move it up front !! Quote
oldturtle Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Fixitrod; Thanks for great tip and very good site. Quote
fixitrod Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Fixitrod; Thanks for great tip and very good site. No problem. I not sure who made that site, but I reference it everytime somebody ask about the coolant bottle. Mines always full since I moved it. Quote
