ZIGGYBAM Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Im sure this has been asked repeadedly....what do u guys use for oil? ATF? 10w40 wet clutch oil? I think this is what the manual calls for......just lookin for some opinions... Quote
PaymentPlan Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Royal Purple is what I run. You can use ATF, just change it periodically. Quote
Toybreaker Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 (edited) Don’t change from oil to atf on used clutches..... they burn up when you change after they are saturated. I like type F ATF better friction modifiers Edited March 28, 2018 by Toybreaker Atf recommendation Quote
special06shee Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Ive tried it all and never noticed a difference with anything. Run the cheapest shit possible. Quote

JUSTWANNARACE Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 I prefer bel ray gear saver 80w or redline shockproof.. ATF is not good for the hard parts, it is fine for the clutches but will cause pitting on the tranny gears Quote
Ducman Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 I just got raped for $10 a quart for the yamalube gear oil. Quote
Rippin'n'Runnin Posted March 29, 2018 Report Posted March 29, 2018 Been using klotz flexdrive 30 for a few years. It's been working good so far. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 30, 2018 Report Posted March 30, 2018 Just run quality stuff and always check it. If you want to just run ATF, change it often. Quote
ZIGGYBAM Posted March 31, 2018 Author Report Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) Got some honda 80w...this is what they reccommended i run at the yamaha/ honda dealer near me, so i went with that....better than the milk i have in there now from an o-ring not seated on the hose that caused some coolant to leak in...no damage, all fixed, but i wanna change it Edited March 31, 2018 by ZIGGYBAM Forgot Quote
Derpy Drifter Posted April 2, 2018 Report Posted April 2, 2018 I’ve always run 10w-30 conventional motor oil and never had issues with the clutches sticking, and no damage to the transmission. I’m considering switching to 50/50 ATF and heavy duty hydraulic oil on the new motor and clutches. I work with hydraulics regularly in my career and that mixture proves to be good. With all the detergents in ATF keeping things clean and the high film strength of the hd hydraulic oil. Anybody have input to add on that?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
ClaudeMachining Posted April 2, 2018 Report Posted April 2, 2018 I use tranny oil in my tranny. Envoyé de mon SM-G935W8 en utilisant Tapatalk Quote
