I already purchased new lowers through you guys. Got them last week. Had to order tops through laeger. You guys were out of stock. I am replacing all 4. Would have never known they were bad there is no slop in any of them but the one that fell apart.

To check ball joints I recommend feeling how they move by hand.  This is a pain as you need to disconnect them from the spindle but is the right way to do it.  I would replace them when they lose there stiffness.  When new they are tight and require effort to move once they wear they will move around much easier.  I def wouldn't wait until there is actually play where you can feel them clunking around inside themselves.

What length shock would you use for the long travel arms, once I remove the stock shocks on the adapters. Ride mostly trails, but like xc, some mx. Something like Hatfeild Mcoys trails.

^^^ 18" is Max without binding.

I've been using this setup for a few seasons now.

I ride mostly the same style as you just in the mountains.

Yeah. Few pics around. Riding on them for a few seasons now. No real problems as of yet. Easy to setup as well.
