charlie__walsh Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Hello I have a 04 shee and my right carb slide is sticking, so I poped the seat and filter to have a look and sure enough it was coming down slowly and sometimes would stay open, as soon as I turned the key the carb slide would drop completely.... just wondering the best fix... can I stretch the spring out? BUILDER Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 They get a film of oil on them from the gas. Clean it good with carb cleaner and clean the inside of the bore and it will work fine. Unless you have a bad cable? Quote
dave5.0 Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Or the carb and slide is worn out and rocking a little as it comes down and sticking. If that's the case trash it. Would probably have a lean rev if that loose though. Never know though. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 might also check that the vent hole in the top of the slide isn't covered by the screwed on clip Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Time for a set of new PWK's Quote
jbooker82 Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 I keep the slides lubed with Cable Life spray lube. Quote
camatv Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 i didnt read all the rest of the comments just wanted to say it could be the throttle cable. get a new cable, and clean the carbs they probably need it any ways Quote
Josh96 Posted March 26, 2024 Report Posted March 26, 2024 How did you know it was sticking in the first place? Was it doing the death rev? Quote
