atcandbanshees Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 I'm going to add more rubber engine dampers see if that's helps the chain issue and make sure there is no binding. Do u think adding a roller tensioner would help since I'm running a +12 Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 Definitely run a tensioner. I'd run one on anything more than a +6... Quote
atcandbanshees Posted April 22, 2013 Author Report Posted April 22, 2013 Ok I'll give it a shot sorry for the random new post but for some reason my last one was deleted so couldn't use it anymore Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 I put 4 dampers on mine, couldn't see where it could hurt. (didn't see where the factory 2 could help) Quote
lil Doobie420 Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 my boy had a problem where his chain whould break every time the swing arm was miss aligned like a 16th of an inch.in the front. check it out. we used a string to check it. Quote
RadarRacing Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 Does it ever sound like your trans is popping? Which is many times your chain popping on the front sprocket as it is kinda trying to climb over and pop off the sprocket. It can do it while riding slow with no load and that would be swingarm alignment. If it does it when you have a load and are accelerating that can be motor tweaking. You can add extra stock washers like the rear motor mount has and add then to the front. I had to get Stellars adjustable bottom motor mount struts. They fixed my problems. $55 well spent. Quote
possum Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 All that Radar said can also happen with a loose chain. The popping that is. Maybe invest in better chains. Quote
atcandbanshees Posted April 22, 2013 Author Report Posted April 22, 2013 It does Make ratcheting noise when launching I'm gonna buy those grommets and try that along with spring roller tensioner Quote
RadarRacing Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 If you dont have the extra half washers in the front get them and put them in the front mounts. They come stock only in the rear bolt. Quote

locogato11283 Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 If you're hearing the popping noise, you need to inspect your sprockets and chain tightness. I've never run a tensioner with my +14, but some people swear by them. Quote
BigRed350x Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 I am with loco, I run a +14 swingarm and have never used a chain tensioner. Maybe I'm just lucky... Quote
