Crank is fucked up the keyway is totally gone. The flywheel gets lapped on all of our motors, so yes it got lapped in both times. This past time was the 1st time ever torqueing the nut to spec. Every other motor has been done with an impact gun. This crank has been a nightmare, being my doing or not. It's not the 1st billet I've had. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 You're not the only person to have issues with flywheels on billet cranks. We've had them come off before. Quote

Any thought on getting a new one and having it balanced with the rotating assembly while the cranks getting fixed? this is not meant to be negative in any way. i know of more than one motor going through these same issues right now and just wonder what the cure is. i would like to know the solution before i assemble one with stock style ign. I'm not taking this negative at all. To me, both failures were different. The 1st one was the flywheel crank threads be twisted off while running the nut down. I've never had any of these problems before with billet cranks or my other cranks. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Is this a Crankworks billet crank? Quote
fappy'97 Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 You guys need Pandalloy cranks. Newbs. Quote

SlowerThanYou Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Is this a Crankworks billet crank? Yes I'm going to chime in here....Several days ago I was going to make note of how in my personal (proven) opinion, your pipes may be the issue. But I decided to let it go, when it is figured out that your pipes ARE the issue, I will let whomever take the credit...But just know, I thought it days before anyone else.. Carry on -BoyBlunder At least you have your name right! Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted August 10, 2013 Author Report Posted August 10, 2013 Dyno update from K&T yesterday. Randy went to remove our flywheel to install theirs for remote starting, "I think we found a problem". Our flywheel was hard to come off. When he did get it off, the flywheel was destroyed. It had sheared the key. It also spun so bad it took out the keyway & that end of the crank. Randy is hoping to have it fixed & back on the dyno in a couple of weeks. Wow! I just talked with K&T today, they have the crank back & the motor is going back together tomorrow. That's just 6 days from finding out the crank & flywheel was fucked-up. He said it should be back on the dyno early this week. They sure do know how to make things happen fast! Quote

Duh, they could care less about a bad review in the HQ Circus or from me for that matter. LOL! Heck, I don't know why they are doing it. I'm just glad I'm getting taken care of very well. Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted August 11, 2013 Author Report Posted August 11, 2013 Once that Ron guy left K&T I'm pretty sure no one from there has been on here You are right, Ron/K&T hasn't been on since Feb. Quote
