1996 banshee faster than other banshee's in stock form?

So today i had someone tell me that the 1996 banshee was faster then other banshees due to a change in motor displacement from yamaha that year?? I didn't really believe him but i just wanted to see if you guys have heard anything about this?

yep and too many people got hurt on the 96's so for 97 & newer they went back to the old motor design to slow people down again

Yup. That's why that year has all different connectors on the harness. Look up the parts you'll see. If you want I have the CDI with the aggressive timing curves they used. I'll sell it to you for 75 shipped

The 1996 had the green powerbands, all the other came with factory blue bands.
