k&nshee Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) Just got a 2006 banshee off a guy he said he was running walmart brand premix oil and im not going to stick with so now im trying to decide what i want to switch too im leaning toward yamahalube just because thats what yamaha recomends . Does anyone else have any better sugestions and on a side no should i run 93 octane and mix 32:1 or just stick to 87octane Edited November 19, 2012 by k&nshee Quote
Jereme6655 Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Yamalube....no. Try doing some research on here using the search function......there hae been 100s of post like this. There are so many different oils that are better than yamalube.... Klotz 927 Amsoil The list goes on and on..... 32:1 and at least 90 on a stock bike....l.id run 93 if it has pipes or more unless mods call for more octane Quote

old put-put Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I run Yamalube in both of my banshees and never had a problem. 40:1 in 110 octane tubo blue. I've done this for over 18 yrs so I guess it will be ok. Quote
Sandking Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 yamalube 2r 17 years no problem Quote
Nieskes Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I ran yamalube for 4 years until I went to alky, never had any issues other than it smells like shit. Quote
spurdy Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I run Klotz Supertech in both bikes. Gas and alky. Nothing wrong with Yamalube either. Many brands as stated are very good oils. Personally I wouldn't run a walmart brand though. SP Quote
RobertR Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 The wife has been running yamalube in her banshee from day one it's a 99 and still runs strong and has never been rebuilt. Quote
Methfireroad Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I was turned onto klotz by my friend who runs it. I have never had a problem with it but its a bit spendy. I run 50:1 but every one has a different mix they like to run. Quote
Nightmare Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I run klotz but use yamalube as back up. No problems with it here. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
shanYE west Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 yamalube is actually a very good oil. I've seen a few topends that were 10+yrs old using yamalube. Quote
outlander1000 Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I've ran Klotz in the banshee and looked good after 5 years on Wisecos but it always had a proper warm up. Run walmart super tech in the ski's as they can go through quite a bit of gas. Never had a failure with them either and they somtimes stay full throttle for 5 miles at a time. Jetting and warm-up are probably more important than oil brand. Quote
