Tdaz250 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 What are peoples opinions/What oil do you guys like to use? When i bought my banshee, i got some fresh liquids too, the guy at the shop near me suggested gear saver for gearbox oil and some yamalube for gas mix. I also got some new spark plugs. I'm thinking i'd like to try amsoil next time I have to get oil. Just wondering everyones preference on the forum Quote
06specialedition Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Klotz R-50 @ 40:1 with pump gas. Klotz Flex Drive in trans. Quote

mike607 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Amsoil 100:1 is what I used on my '99 when it was new and up and running.....its been torn down to the frame for a mega re-build for a few years now.. Quote
boise_banshee Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 this has been asked million+ times...... but I run the castrol syn TTS 32:1 Minimal wear on internals & its cheap. Smokes out a entire city block on start Quote
Tdaz250 Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 Sorry I didn't use the search. I'm surprised it's not a sticky in a newbie section or something. Quote
camatv Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 i believe its in the banshee toolbox sticky thread.. if we had a banshee NOOB section that would be really cool!! but then i dont think there would be many NEW posts. 1 Quote
VictorK Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 klotz all the way for mix and golden spectro for the cases. Ive always ran them for years with great success Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Castor 927 mixed @ 32:1 but i run methanol, so its a little different for me. Castor 927 produces a lot of black goop through the entire exhaust system and in your cylinders. It smells good, but is pretty messy. You have to keep up on your end-of-ride cleaning or it will get nasty pretty quick. Its great with the methanol though. I can't stand the fruity smell of the klotz supertechniplate. I hate that shit. Trick2stroke Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I've used Amsoil Dominator at 50:1 for the past 8 years. Awesome stuff, minimal carbon build up, hardly any smoke, and incredible wear protection. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I love the smell of bean oil . The official BHQ oil? What ever the fuck you want at whatever ratio. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. JMHO, your results may and will vary. Quote
jayzx10r Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 I have to give thanks to Yamaha for providing me with the 2r I've run now for 270 gallons of premix without catastrophic failure while operating in the inhumane conditions Glamis offers. BTW: Jason's Vapor figured we get about 11MPG so that's near 3000 miles so far!! Yamalube 2r 1 Quote
dunerider4life Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 i use 32:1 on a pretty stock bike with 91 oct and ride in the sand only so ya thats what i use Quote
gstaten24 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 I've used castor before but like said earlier it leaves a lot of black stuff behind so now I use redline synthetic at 40:1. Quote
