00sheerzr Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 ok ive been trying to set the psi just right and i cant seem to find it, i know your only suppose to run a few psi but if you guy can give me a starting point that would be great Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 3-5 psi. no less in the woods. Quote
bigborebanshee Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 For me it depends on the tire. I run 5-6 on 4ply and 3-4 on 6ply tires. Quote
trail rider Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 are you trying to get more traction or a smoother ride? I usually run my tires a little soft so they flex and roll a little bit in the corners and berms, if you air em up hard they like to spin and slide easier. Quote
KlotzBanshee Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I run 5psi in the fronts and 4psi in the rears. Quote
MN SHEE Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I have one area we ride thats very rocky and run 7-9 psi just to save the rims and tires Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 the lower PSI you go in the trails, the more risk you run of rolling a tire off the bead. i wouldnt go crazy at like 10 PSI or anything, but 3-5 is a good spread. Quote
shanYE west Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I run about 2.5 in the rears and 5 in the fronts. I use Holeshot xcr rear and the stock 450 dunlops on the front. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 4 to 5 in the rear tires and 6 to 7 in the fronts Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 around 8ish.. ive ripped my beeds off of beadlocks with 4 from reving and droping it. the rim spun but the tire didnt on the ground and i tore the tire wall off the tread.. fun ride back.. but yah i run 8ish with or without beadee's front and back. i ride on streets, muddy trails, and rocks, fields, sand, ice, and snow.. wacko2000 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I think this is to broad of a question. You have to be more specific on what you are trying to accomplish here. I believe it will vary with conditions, tire size, mods etcc I have 21" razr in the front and run 6psi where we ride. I run 22's in the rear and run from 1-4psi The rear tires, even with 1psi they feel like 4. Are you spinning to much, are you hooking to hard, what kind of terrain do your ride, what are the conditions usually like?? I think you need to find what you and your bike like and just roll with it... Quote
00sheerzr Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 the fron feel like they dig way too hard in corners even when im leaned back and those are puresports 21x7x10 i think off an older raptor 660, the rears are razr2s 22inch i dnt know the other dimension , and they dont hook well out of the corners Quote
evro Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I run 4-6 in the rears (Kenda Klaw XC's), and the same up front (stock), since i switched to the the 450 front end. When i had the stock banshee front end, i ran them a little harder (more psi, fronts only) to compensate for the lack of suspension travel. I've tried different psi combos and like these the best for my current set up and body weight. Quote
Keyser Soze Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Ive had these damn realtors forever and the tread will not wear out. They are 6ply and the hardest tire I have ever seen. I run 4-5 in front and 0 in rear Quote
