donkeypuncher Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 sounds like your next step would be getting your cylinders ported. the kind of port you get depends on what kind of trails you ride. wide open or tight and technical? you can squeeze some good power out of a good port job with a good builder. if i were you i would call a couple builders ( such as kevin at Herr jugs racing or jeff at F.A.S.T) and talk to them, tell them what kind of riding you do and what you want out of your bike and they will hook you up. whatever you do try and stay away from "big name builders" such as trinity, alba, duncan, etc. when you pay them to do the work you're paying for the name. Angel ripper Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Trinity, duncan, alba are all good. don't let anyone tell you different. Id rather use someone like that, than a backyard shop, beacuse they sponsor this site or something And I got a cheaper price from one of those, than I got from one of the site sponsors I called :ermm: Edited March 15, 2009 by Angel ripper Quote
RagunCajun Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 With the mods you already have, i would spend the money on suspension. IMO you dont need more power for trails. I would rather my bike to be more plush and handle better so it wouldnt wear me out as easy. An easier to ride bike makes it enjoyable to ride for longer. Quote
05Special Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 My buddy has a very familiar setup and he does great in the trails. I would also recommend something along the suspension route... Quote
Mjv420 Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 I agree with the above two posts, I would do some suspension work, with the right bolt-ons so you can transfer the power you already have to the ground more sufficently. Like mentioned though, alot depends on what trails your riding mostly. Quote

Yeah, I wanna give my money to a big name "builder" that has a bunch of trained monkeys not only runnin the phones but runnin the grinders... Then when one of those tards fuck it up I have to play Dick Tracey trying to find someone who has a clue or even gives a shit.. :shoothead: Ill stick with my "backyard" builders who are PROVEN to know their shit and can be reached if a problem does arise.. As for the question.. I don't ride a ton of trails so the suspension advice might be great advice.. BUT if you are looking for more power down the road porting like mentioned above will bennifit most anyone and if you really wanna get crazy toss in a 4mill.. Just better take out some more life insurance at that point.. Only downside to all that though, it starts leaning more to a hills bike rather than trails because you will start to need more swingarm quick! RIPPEN Quote

RIPPEN i called one of these so called "site sponsors" and i got a better deal on my parts from a "major" builder and i don't see any of the sites sponsors winning pikes peak or pont de vaux like there banshees are doing so I won't just go to someone beacuse they are a site sponsor, I bet if alba or trinty were a site sponsor, you would be sucking their cock too. duncan has proven themselves over and over again, with 2 and 4 strokes, so why not use them? nayr742003 Posted March 15, 2009 Author Report Posted March 15, 2009 As for using a big name company well i can agree i wouldnt i can honestly say i would send it to jeff at fast racing. I have ordered off of him and talked to him on the phone and i think hes a great guy who gave me some awsome advice before ( even thought they were some stupid questions) so to take my bike to him would be fine with me. The trails we ride around here are tight and have alot of windy bends cricks and a shit load of straight aways. As for suspension i have all stock shocks and stock a-arms.That will be one of the things i will do but thats after i get a few other things for the motor. I will be lookin into what tooth sprocket i have and chime in and see what u guys think about that. The trinity 421 kit is just the kind of build i mmight want to do next as for whos name is on it i could care less hell it could say walmart for all i care as long as it runs im ok with stuff like that.
