Snopczynski Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Pulled out my best friends 4 mill after it locked up on the flats doing jetting runs in november. The magnet came out of one of those wiz bang drain plugs and grenaded his tranny. So if your running one, put the stocker back in while you still have time. Quote
Bill Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 No shit? That must have been A shocker. Quote
jtownrider Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Same thing happened on my car except luckily mine is stuck inside the oil pan and wont make it to anything rotating Quote
AKheathen Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 i'd send the drainplug company a bill adhesive is never a place to cut corners Quote
shee rips Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 hmm. i have one thats been sitting here for a while waiting for me to change the oil and put it in. i guess itll keep on sitting. Quote
flyhighprerunner Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 So basically its a better paper weight or door wedge!!!!! Quote
brugal Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 First time I hear of that happening, good looking out  .. Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Wow! I was thinking of getting one too. Nevermind! That's a scary thought. Quote
jamebo Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Same here, I'd been thinking the same thing about getting one. That's off the list now, for sure! Quote
RIPPEN Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 I have ran one for several years with no problem and this is the first I have ever heard of such a thing. So the magnet is held on by adheasive? If thats the case and the adheasive did fail how does it get pulled from the metal drain plug? RIPPEN Quote
rtcc Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 what brand was it? I think they are made differently with different companies. Quote
Snopczynski Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 Well, he has had two different ones and both have been made the same. Aluminum bolt, with magnet stuck in the center. First one stripped out because it was made of aluminum. The secone one had the magnet fall out now. Those fiber washers they send with the drainplug are bullshit too. Quote
boneyardbanshee. Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Does he happen to know what company he got them from? Mine isnt Alum. I have not had a problem, yet. That is kinda scary though. I would hate to remove it because it does catch alot of shavings from my clutch plates. That was before I got a new basket though. Damn now you got me all worried Quote
dragbanshee Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Never really thought much of them anyway, Thanks for the heads up though. Quote
