acfine Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 (edited) 300 Mains with stock 25 pilot jets... Will this work? Seems to have no low end, and is hard to keep running. Will going to 27.5 on the pilot jets help remedy this? Anthony Edited September 7, 2008 by acfine Quote
GrMeyer Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 What all is done to your bike so some more people can put their input on here. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 there is a jetting section for a reason. List all your mods, include your riding eleveation and average temps, and we can get you a better idea. Quote
acfine Posted September 7, 2008 Author Report Posted September 7, 2008 I moved this question to the Jetting/Exhaust section. Quote

acfine Posted September 7, 2008 Author Report Posted September 7, 2008 Still need info. My Banshee is a 2002 with FMF Fatty exhaust, Core2 silencers, 300 main jets, 25 pilot jet, K&N filter and a K&N PowerLid. Elevation is 430ft. (Dallas, TX) Once I'm up in the RPMs, it screams, but it's really tough to get going at all with the amount of bogging... Quote
shee4speed Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 has it always had the bog? Pull the lid off and see if its clogged. Did you recently oil the filters? Quote
krazy jake Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Well im at sea lvl and with the lid off the airbox fmf fattys and +4 timing i have 27.5 pilots. when i had stock 25's it bogged horibly on the bottom end. put the 27's and she screams with no hesitation so try the 27's . besides if its not that then just swap em out with the 25's. the carbs arent that hard too pull. Its worth a shot yess? Quote
LS1Inferno Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 yeah those 25's are too small for that elevation. try the 27.5 and set the air screw at 1-1/2 turns out and go from there. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Should be pretty close. Sounds like it's asking for more air! That airfilter clean & oiled properly? Once over oiled my filter and bogged out like that because it couldn't breath! Quote

Once over oiled my filter and bogged out like that because it couldn't breath! I agree, I have roughly the same mods as you (FMF Gnarly, k&n, no lid) and I'm running stock pilots with 300 mains. No bog here at 700 ft. Check your needle setting, should be on the 3rd clip (middle one). Quote
acfine Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 No, the bogging started as soon as I put the 300 Mains in, and the air filter is good and clean... I'm gonna mess with the air screw for a bit, and then go with the 27.5's if need be. I agree, swapping the jets aint bad at all, either way, I'm close, and not a lot of work left to do. Quote
