I wouldn't dare to give you an answer...I really don't know...banshee #48 had a shee w/ just bolt ons and CPI drag pipes and he said he had 33PWK's. He was taking everything in the pit....Of course he was setup for dragging also....whether the 33's were the best choice, I don't know, maybe he could of gone better w/ a different carb choice....
-
YOu should be able to handle those carbs w/ a 4mm and dragporting.....try adjusting the carbs....try a smaller pilot or larger pilot, smaller pilot will start hard when cold, but easy when warm, a rich pilot will start easy when cold and hard when warm. A really rich pilot will make your shee act like the choke is out. You have to keep revving it to clean the motor out... adjust air screws to the best throttle response. Also try adjusting the needles a different height and find the best low end pull....If none of this works, then go down to a 28mm carb..

Anyone Up For Another Bhq Get Together?

i hear ya Walt, how can that be, when i run a skid it gets the shit dinged out of it too, i think they attract rocks if ya ask me........wow is that shipping price both ways?.....Banch what if you grabed a pal or two rented a trailer and came out wouldnt tha be cheaper for you? i know its a long ass drive are you going to drive and ship the bike?... I'm flying out....Cost me around $400 round trip for air fare....$1000 for the shee and me.....I think Cali is over 4000 miles from Maine....At 17 mi/ga. for my duramax. It'll cost me around 400 bucks for fuel going one way....so $900 both ways for fuel not including wear and tear on my truck or taking an extra week off of work to drive down there.....It'd probably take me 3-5 days to get there and another 3-5 days to get back......I'd be spending more time driving my truck then the shee... Deuce, I'm a lllllooonnnngggggg ways from you buddy.......Maine is called "the other world"... -
I guess its back to the drawing board.....
-
No idea....they told me that I could run them w/ just pipes alone and no porting, but wouldn't gain that much......GAIN!!! WTF, At least keep up w/ stock hp.....I sold the carbs and lost out on some money....Sucky way to learn....I'd still like to try some 26mm flatslides if they made them.....

One: what kind of pipes do you have/?? Two: Your riding in Va, which tells me that your running knobby tires..Shorten the swingarm -2" and get that thing to hook up. I used to have the same problem. Shortened the swingarm and its a joke to race a 400ex...Most shee riders on here that ride dunes have paddle tires which makes a world of a difference for traction and the stock swingarm is perfect for that. But w/ knobby tires, the stock swingarm is too long and defeats a lot of mods you put on since the wheels spin so much....you'll also notice a big difference in handling...Do a search and you'll find a lot of great info on this....

What are you saying??? The banchetta is muddy???? Dirty?? Filthy???? Well, of all the .........alright....your right....its dirty..I'll wash it.... $600!!! Not bad, this will be the first time I've been out west....should be interesting....2500' hills!!! wooohoooo!!!!!!! Can I jump em???!!!!! Listen to me, I'm sounding like a child in a little sand box.... In actuality, I'm a child in a BIG sand box..... Can't wait to meet some of you and your shees.....This should be pretty cool....Walter, did my shee really look that bad??? -
Agreed, I lost 8hp on top w/ 34 mmPJ's w/ the mods listed in my sig.....I lost hp all around bottom and top.....

You guys are too much!!! BTW, I've tried everything under the sun and I could never get two new pads on at the same time. I usually just throw one pad on and ride it for the weekend, the pads wears just enough to get the second pad on....even w/ the piston all the way in, the edge of my caliper will hit the rotor, not the pad, so there isn't enough room to get a new pad on one side.......Is it just me??? I've heard the same thing from other shee owners also....so I take the easy route, but I'm curious to how the hell they do it from the factory.....

Smoking More From One Cylinder Than Other
Banchetta replied to StonedBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
ONe plug could be fouling faster than the other or your carbs could be out of sync.. -
Any way I can try that 2 into 1 setup Lead foot???? I've always wondered what they are like and would like to try them out and give my input on them....

Let me know on that shipping to Walter...I still have to pull my shee apart and rebuild her before I go, I'm thinking of getting some high rev headers also...lets see what the Pt high revs have got.... -
What Pipes Would Be Best For My Shee?
Banchetta replied to screamin'twin's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Pt mids for hill climbing....What kind of hill climbing are we talking?? Normal hill climbing like sand pits or Dune hill climbing??? Pt's for normal hill climbing, I don't know about Dunes.. -
You might want to try a smaller pilot and that'll help your plug fouling problem....might even gain a little on the bottom..just a suggestion.
-
Its mostly in my sig, but we're only allowed so many characters.... The winter makes the shee run stronger and snappier since the air is denser. You just have to rejet for the air density difference and it'll pull hard and safe..

My friend went staight to 30 pilots like fmf suggested and had a numb spot on the off idle.. He lowered the pilots to 27.5 and it ran better. Went back to stock pilots and really rips on the throttle response....He has 290 mains, 25 pilots, and needles in the 5th clip from the blunt end.....good luck..and let us know how you make out...

Shee Still Isn't Getting Fuel...
Banchetta replied to banshee_rider95's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Ok here is my theory. If both plugs are dry, then you have a problem between the gas tank and the carbs. Chances of both carbs not getting fuel is too coincidental and would have to be a plugged fuel petcock or plugged fuel line.....Does gas pour out of the gas line if you pull it off the carbs??? -
Depends on your riding, but unless your riding dunes, I'd go w/ the Bills.....They have more low end and a wider powerband...The pc's pull hard on top which would really shine in the dunes...

I don't see my name on that list!!!! You think I was joking???? Count me in....My friend Danny is all about it to...I've just been busy. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to a Carribean Cruise for a week so I've been consentrating on that...Once I get back, I'll be thinking about this trip and will get the plans worked out..Walter, I know you like to plan 4 months in advance. I usually plan in 4 days or less and just go... I'll try to get everything going here asap so we can figure out what we need and if we should just rent another mh or share a large one.....Is your wife willing to share w/ Danny and I or will that be too crowded?? If its too much then we'll get our own..no big deal.. -
I think so, they have a hex head w/ a slot in them, gold in color, and come in different sizes.....I'd get the 1/2". Don't get the cheap imitations that are black. They come out and you'll lose air if they go all the way through....
-
I'll be changing my clutches next month when I pull my shee totally apart for a freshening up.....I'll look at the the clutch set up better and post my oppinion on this....The one thing I do know, is that I abuse my clutch severly on the hills I climb and never had a problem exept when I'm dragging and slipping the clutch for long periods of time...never had a problem when fully disengaged, only semi engaged.....
-
I would start w/ 320 mains and go from there. Do a plug check after a wot run in 6th gear....that'll tell all...there should only be 1-2 main jet size differences between summer and winter....
-
Toomeys don't have very great bottom end at all....If anyone thinks this, then you obviously never rode a shee w/ midrange pipes......BIG difference. Toomey is a top end pipe.....
