  1. I had a similar problem with mine the idle was very high (not full throttle high) after making a few round at the Lake Ellsinore track. I originally thought the choke was stuck or I just need to adjust my idle. As I started playing with the idle and making sure everything was tight I noticed that the TORS unit was loose, the connection felt tight but after disconnecting it I realized that it was cross threaded. After reconnecting properly the idle went back to normal.
  2. Thanks guys....I'll check the compression before tearing the bottom end apart and report back.
  3. I was in Dumont this weekend and let my buddy ride my shee and the engine just stoped. I could start it and it would idle for a bit then die but the sound it made was like something locked up (thunk sound). It still starts eveytime I kick it over but for only a few seconds before it stops again. I checked the oil and it has some metal flakes in it so obviously something is broken. I have never worked on 2 strokes before and was wondering if it's possible to have spun a main bearing? Just wondering if anyone has experience this what it could be and If Im going to have to rebuild the bottom end what mods / upgrades would you do. Any help would be appreciated.....
  4. Looking for a frame with title.....
  5. Do you still have the frame.
  6. I go to Pismo Beach quite a bit during the summer......I use silicone spray that you can pick up at any yamaha dealer. I goes on clear, I spray down the whole bike from top to bottom including your chain and very little cleanup. I use it on my shee and my YFZ 450, no rust so far.
  7. WTB stock A-arms for the right side
  8. I'm new to the banshee world and in the process of putting all new mods etc.... I removed the airbox and notices on the carbs that when I give it gas (while not running) I see into the carbs and notice that only the valve throttle on the left rises along with the needle but the right one doesn't. I'm guessing this is not right and maybe the throttle cable is broken somewhere in the cable between the thumb throttle and the tors....or is this normal?
  9. I have both the 450 and the shee.....I love the shee, nothing is better that a finely tuned 2 stroke but the 450 is better handling and faster than the shee in the dunes and on the track (if they have the same mods). Just my 2 cents.....good luck on you search....
  10. this is wrong............ I saw a stock shee get 5 lengths put on him by a stock yfz........ I also disagree with you Sandstar.....it's definately the 450.....I have raced quite a few of the shees and it definately the 450. I own a shee and most of my buddies that have one are trying to sell it to get the 450. I love my shee as well because there's no better feel that a tricked out 2-stroke but the 450 still takes it.
  11. Any recomendations on where to get the tors removal kit (thumb throtle)?
  12. I have a shee and I bought a 450 about 3 monthes ago and stock v's stock the 450 every time (racing up comp hill at Glamis and Dumont). If both bikes have about the same bolt on mods (filter, pipe, jets...etc) still the 450 every time. Now with enought mod on the shee you can take the 450, I've been smoked a few times but again with the same mods the 450 takes it.
  13. I'm new to the banshee world, I have a YFZ 450 and I just inherited a banshee from my buddy. For now it is just a project bike for me. Before even starting it I changed plugs, oil, clutch and took the carbs apart and cleaned them out. I noticed the TORS that sit on top of the carbs had 2 broken screws on the top (one on each TORS). I decided to look around for replacement TORS and found out that you can bypass them but it involves drilling holes in the carbs, for what reason I don't know. Now my question is......is it worth replacing the TORS or by passing them, any pros and cons about either setup would be a good to know. And what exactly do the TORS do?
  14. Can you give me some details on why you are going back to 2 carbs and what carbs are you going back with?
  15. I am considering going to a single carb on the shee...any info will help type of carb / company pros and cons of single v's dual what mods are needed for single carb
