  1. Did you slip the clutch and rev it alot before putting it away?? You could have welded the ball to the rod....
  2. I was told by Vito that the pistons will raise the compression by 10-15 psi.....I'm pretty sure it was the power pistons and not the super stock pistons, but I might have them mixed up....either way, it might be the combo of both.....I agree w/ everyone else,,your playing w/ fire, you might get away w/ it, or you might get burnt....Your call, but I'd run a mix of 50/50 race and 93 octane.... or get larger domes
  3. Your always going to get some blueing really close to the cylinders w/ hard riding, but lean jetting makes the shee run extremely hot and will blue the pipes faster and further down the pipe...some blueing doesnt' exactly mean your lean, but doesn't hurt to double check.....A lean motor will cause excessive blueing and other colors.....
  4. Depends on your type of riding...mods change everything and each one is rider particular...
  5. What is your jetttin at now....air box mods?? air filter?? We need details!!
  6. Was that after Dumont or before?? W/ the jetting he has now??
  7. yep, yep, I used to run 270 mains, needle on the 4th clip, 25 pilots, but had a bad bog off idle...It needed a larger pilot, but I just hated the pipes (pc) and sold them...I find most people on here run richer mains than I do and try to compensate by YOUR responses which you never answered or tried..... Either way, glad to hear its runnin good now, Sredish is right on, when I went to Dumont, I was running a 170 main in my Keihin carbs, when I got back to Maine, I dropped to a 160 main and I live by the ocean so I'm at sea level, so go figure.......
  8. Yea, jet it in right.....your too lean and can sieze the top end if your not careful....
  9. Its a 2-stroke!! its supposed to smoke some when warm and a lot when cold....I wouldn't suggest running leaner then 40:1 oil mixture....What do you call a lot of smoke??
  10. The dyno can compensate by the rotation vs your rpms.....so gearing doesn't affect it..when you first dyno, you run it at a steady rpm to adjust the dyno, at least a good dyno anyways....
  11. hehe,,,nothing wrong w/ some dyno testing...I can't remember the number, but look up cmperformance.com and the number will be there....I'll have something for everyone this weekend...
  12. Carb bowls swapped?? make sure the carb bowl w/ the brass tube and litte jet in the bowl is on the left carb....also check the equalizer tube between the two carbs, you might want to pull the carbs and clean them thorougly w/ an air compressor..
  13. carbs are out of sync...
  14. what makes you think its the timing?? sounds like an air leak.
  15. Gearing doesn't affect the dyno...
  16. running no filter???? Better buy some new pistons now, you'll need them.
  17. Agreed, moving the clip down will raise the needle......4th or 5th clip from the blunt end so the clip will be moved towards the taper.... so when you put the needle back into the slide the needle will be higher inside the slide....
  18. Lower the needle one clip...the pilots are already richening the needle circuit, so you have to lower the needles to compensate..
  19. You run larger pilot to, don't you Rod??
  20. 175 mains
  21. Lower the needles back down....The 30 pilots are already running the whole circuit richer.....
  22. Bought one about 3 years ago and bent it the first week, they sent me a new one, haven't had a problem since....I like it, just make sure the bolts for the hubs are super tight, I grinded down the hubs a little to get a socket on the nut. I couldn't get it tight enough otherwise.....Rear wheel would wobble...now it works great..
  23. Some people have good luck w/ that technique, but my plugs come out black w/ stock pilots.... My shee runs the strongest w/ stock pilots and has the best throttle response.... Thats the best way to determine your pilot size, trial and error and FEEL the difference!!!!!!!
  24. Raise your needles all the way up.. I run mine in the 5th clip from the blunt end, stock pilots, adjust air screws to .5 turn from seated and see how it likes that...Also, take the snorkel off....
