  1. I got rid of mine and Fixitrod got rid of his...We changed our domes in the heads....It sounds crazy, but it worked. Dave at Noss helped both of us out on this and did the trick for both our quads. I'm running 34pjs and Rod is running 35pwks.
  2. I called Val du Lakes campground and we don't need any reservations, they just said to show up so we can all meet there. The price is $12/person/per night. There is electricity and water on site. We can purchase ice and firewood there. There are showers and restrooms, and of course the "bar" . I'm shitty at posting maps. If someone could post a map to how to get there, that'd help me out some...
  3. I would have went if I knew also.....Damn!!!! Get any pics? Walter are you going to sandfest?
  4. Just go to sandfest sept. 17-19th. I want to witness this first hand. No bullshit, no comments, lets just see it!!! Shit, I'll pay for your whole weekend... And it has to be on flat ground...
  5. Harder hit??? No, the pt mids don't hit hard at all, they just pull smooth and hard as hell. I can't explain it, but you'd be happier w/ mids for the cc.
  6. I"m running a 58 in my pj carbs, but when I had my pwk's, my stroker liked the 42's best.....depends on what carb style you have. My pj's run richer.
  7. I'd like to see your power curve to compare to mine...Could you post it or send it to me?
  8. I started this topic only for info, so don't post unless its useful...discussions can go under "sandfest". I started this so everyone doesn't have to read through 7 pages for info. The date has been decided for Sept 17-19th, friday till Sunday and I'll be staying until Monday morning. I'm getting info for the Val du lakes campsites and will post tomorrow as long as they still have openings for reservations. I'll need a head count so I can reserve the amount of sites so we can all stick together to meet each other and hang out together..I'll be driving a pewter ext. cab duramax lettered up w/ a 14' enclosed v-nose trailer lettered up also, so you won't miss me. The lettering will say "Lawn Innovations". I plan on being in Michigan around 6:00pm Friday. I"ll be sleeping in my trailer.
  9. You adjust the air screws to how the shee responds. Every shee is different as well as the size pilot will also affect it.
  10. nooo, the leaner needles made it run like dog shit. it was spittin and sputtering. that definetely wasnt the way to go. i havent messed with the richer ones but i cant image in using them. it seems rich already. im stumped Don't ever second guess, If it ran like shit w/ leaner needles then you have a really good chance of it running stronger w/ the richer needles..
  11. Better recheck the R/T then. I have 16/42 gears and only pulled 88mph. Thats beside my new GMC 2500HD. And I know Gm is generous w/ their gears...so I doubt I'm even at 88mph...so 100mph w/ 14/41.... .....BUT!!!! if you can't hit 96mph, then you pay for my whole weekend...
  12. So I guess no one is up for the cottage idea??
  13. I've been checking out some cottage rentals also. I can get a 8-10 person cottage for 1000/week...Don't get scared yet, this is for a week. I haven't got a price for 4 days yet. I'm guessing around $500. If we split that between 10 people, then its only 50/person for 4 days/3nights....One of the places is a 3 story building all to ourselves. The pics shows its pretty spacious w/ a huge living room, kitchen, 2 baths, etc... I've found more than one. Just wondering what everyones thoughts on it...???? If not, then we'll hook up at a campground, If the wife doesn't go, then I'll just sleep in my 14' enclosed trailer...Just getting ideas.
  14. Raise the needle......If it hesitates before powerband, then your lean...not rich. Richness will make it spit, sputter, and tell you to get bent...
  15. sounds like the tors or stator to me. How do you know its not the stator? Did you try disconnectting the tors? little black box above the left exhaust and parking brake switch.
  16. Too rich. A cold engine needs a richer mixture to start. If your shee starts cold w/o a choke, then your pilots are too rich. Once you engine is warmed up, then it'll run too rich and your low end to midrange will suffer. I would drop a 45 in there and try that. Your air screws must like to be 2 turns out or more for throttle response....
  17. Playnsand is right on. sounds like you might need to lean the needles. Go from there.
  18. I think the Pt mids give the best overall performance. They give more low end than any other twin pipe w/ awesome top end pull...
  19. you answered your own question, disconnect your tors
  20. Stock carbs are the best for stock porting. Any larger will yield less hp. I never got a chance to test the 2 into 1 setup though and I'd think they might have a gain for all around power since the ported stock carbs lost hp on the dyno, I would have liked to try a set up smaller carbs or single setup...never got that far and ended up putting a stroker in.
  21. How does it start when cold and hot. If it starts hard when warmed up, then you pilot is too big. If it starts hard when cold, but easy when hot, then your close. You should have to use the choke to start it when its cold. I know kiehin carbs aren't as forgiving as the mikunis and that probably why most people have a hard time dialing them in..your either spot on or not. YOu really have to find the right combination.
  22. If you can find a pipe to give you more bottom like a Pt mid and more top then a CPI, then what would be the purpose of all the other pipes on the market.... If you want that, then get a set of powervalve cylinders for $4000. Pipes move the power from one end of the curve to the other. You won't find one pipe that'll do it all.
  23. If it has a new crank, then most likely its already welded. Unless he put a stock crank in there and didn't weld it. That would be stupid. I'd think he would have. You do have to pull the crank to weld it. They weld it where the crank is pressed together. (2 halfs)
  24. You'll learn "Its not how you stand beside your quad, but how your race it....You'll learn that!"
