  1. Do like Rod said and go from there. I know my cousin had a problem w/ his rev limiter from white bros....Did the same thing on his 400ex.
  2. I wouldn't go under 20-21cc domes w/ a stock crank unless your up there in elevation...Most shees can run up to 165psi w/o any problems w/ the cranks....At sea level.....21cc....1500' or higher than go w/ 20cc domes.
  3. maybe your too big and by raising the idle up will just make you run off your needles circuit since your idle setting is too high...try a 55 or 58 and go from there. I have to turn my idle all the way in when I had the 60 pilots in my pwk's...way too rich.
  4. 290=-300 mains, stock pilot, stock needle 4th or 5th clip from the blunt end.
  5. Go w/ the 32:1 ratio....You won't gain anything w/ the 40:1, the richer mixture will help keep you temps down and have better lubrication and engine life.
  6. You guys are nuts...You have an air leak or your throttle is holding the slides up a hair...Motor can't rev unless it can get air....a motor is an air pump..
  7. Your builder should know and I'd start there. I'd run it for a good 8-12 hours and do a wot test....2 tank fulls...
  8. I"m running dual 34's and have also tried the pwks....The pj's run a lot larger pilot. I"m running a 58 pilot w/ 185 mains also...When I ran the pwks, I had a 162 main and 40 pilot, so there is a HUGE difference between the two types of carbs.
  9. You shouldn't have to rejet, but you might want to think about race fuel w/ 19cc domes.
  10. Everyone that is going should send me a contact number and I"ll get a list going w/ everyones name and phone numbers...If you don't want others to know, then let me know. This way we can let each other know where everyone is staying at and could meet up. It would also help if someone broke down on the road. We can all help out. Everyone could either email me or pm me.
  11. She's not sure, she had a bad experience at Coalfest w/ all the rain.... ...contact list....sounds like a good idea.
  12. I know there will be at least 4-5 guys from New England area and possibly more....I'm sure there will be plenty to do since this will be new to a lot of us...I'm sure there will be some dragracing. Chase73 still hasn't learned his leason yet...
  13. You might have forgotten the choke tube between the carbs, put the slides in the opposite carbs so they are backwards. (cutaway should face the air box) or your tors might be malfunctioning. If so, then disconnect the little black box above the left exhaust (3-wire plug) and disconnect the parking brake switch. Let us know how you make out. Its not your jetting from what your telling me...
  14. If you pull the header pipe off and look inside, you'll see a groove in the pipe about 1/4" from the opening where the oring sits in there. Your supposed to pull the stock ones out the stock exhaust and put them in the new exhaust. Thats the only way to seal the pipes....
  15. Exhaust port meaning between the exhaust pipe and cylinder? If so, then you have bad o-rings in the pipes or did you forget them?
  16. The tors can commonly fail even on a newer shee. The first thing I do is disconnect it. You don't need it to run and you don't need the tors removal kit to do it...The tors removal kit is only different carb tops....Just disconnect the two plugs on the carb tops, the black box above the left exhaust (3-wire plug) and the parking brake switch....Just disconnect the factory plugs and your mint.
  17. NO you don't have to close the loop. Leave them separate.
  18. I've called Magic and ordered Keihin needles about 2 months ago...They can still get them even if they don't show it online..you could also try carbparts.com
  19. Most jetting that I've seen and dialed in myself ended up being 290 mains, needle on the 4th or 5th clip from the blunt end, stock pilots and adjust the air screws to the throttle response...
  20. I don't have any recent pics of the new mods, but all you need is the larger boots for like $15 between the carbs and air box, if you choose to keep the air box...There is of course some modding to do to the air box and you can only change the jets by removing the fenders.... I just spend a day and dial in my shee and thats it...If you don't need the air box, then get the twin K&N's w/ the angle. The straight ones run into the pipes..BTW, I'm not running spacers either.
  21. similiar to the T5, and I think they have more low end than the pc's....some of the oldest pipes can be very impressive since they are designed for all around power vs topend.....
  22. Sounds awesome, we'll be waiting for the info. Thanks a million.
  23. Pretty much what everyone said....Make sure your jetting is spot on, and the shee will run for 3-5 years on a set of pistons....I rebuild mine every 3-4 years just for good maintenance and it still pushes the same compression when I pull it apart.
