  1. Only on start up?
  2. Keep it at 32:1 and the idle adjustments are under the seat...Big knobs w/ a slot in them...
  3. Reeds will make your needles run richer...you might have to lean the needles by dropping them one notch....
  4. 290 mains, needle 5th clip from the blunt end and stock pilots.....adjust air screw to throttle response. Let me know how that works...
  5. You might be too rich w/ a 280 main. I'd start w/ a 270 main, 27.5 or 30 pilot and go from there...removing the air box lid will make a huge difference. Or you can cut the last 1.5" off the end of the lid so you still have all 4 clips to hold it on.....make sure you adjust your needle.
  6. jtquad is supposed to get a trucking company to ship a lot of our quads out there. If it doesn't work out, then I'm driving down w/ a trailer and will be hauling some....so whats the story so far JT??? We have to start to get this think going. Its only a few months away....Can we camp in the dunes like Dumont? Outhouses? Or are we getting a campground somewhere??
  7. Try adjusting them and go from there. From what it sounds like your pilots are too big, turning the air screws out will help a little but they only fine tune the pilots...
  8. I run a larger main w/ my Pt's compared to when I ran Pc or fmf....Roughly 2-3 sizes, so I doubt you'll be too rich...let us know.... I ran a 300 main, 25 pilot, and needle 5th clip from the blunt end, air screw .5 turn out....this was at sea level....fmf's and pc piped shees in my area usually run a 270-290 main here...but thats here....
  9. Adjust your air screws to the best throttle response and let me know how many turns out from seated they are....You should be between .5-3 turns from seated, but let me know where your shee likes the settings..
  10. Agreed, they aren't bad at all....
  11. richening
  12. same problems here..Its pissing me off....
  13. My stator have always been spotless, no rust, no corrosion, not even a drop.....But 90% of shees do this...My '00 had no problem until I pulled the carb tops off, then I was done.....
  14. You might have to adjust your floats. If they are set too high, then you'll drown the motor out..
  15. Ptr= Paul Turner Racing or also known as Duncan Racing....mids meaning midrange pipes...
  16. If your shee w/ gnarlies is slower on top, then you better have someone else redo your jetting.....
  17. For great all around power gains. Ptr mids, hands down for all around power w/ a smoother powerband hit.....
  18. I can't imagine the Pt mids having more top end then the DMC's, if so it would be minimal...How much top end do you really need? I ran in Michigan a month ago and road in Dumont last Feb. I never found a need for more revs.....maybe you need a taller gear or you might be overpaddled?
  19. Thanks a lot guys, I'll check them all out...
  20. Get the gixxer, doesn't matter what size, they are ALL fast. I've seen 600's pull 10 flat in the 1/4 beside me on my 750...Its not the motor as much as the rider...90% or more of most riders can't take their bikes to the limits, so size doesn't really matter. ONly after 120mph, then the 750 and 1000's kick in hard over the 600's....Don't buy a harley, they are heavy and can't be layed over to far or you'll scrape the foot pads. I did this once going around a corner at 50mph on a back road. I wasn't even that far over. Scared the hell out of me. What if I had to avoid a car or animal. I'd end up laying the bike down because of all the shit hanging off it will be rubbing...f*ck that, they are worthless. They don't ride any smoother, just a different body positioning. For twice the price and half the handling and performance, Harley are way overrated......Then you have to add oil on every ride....
  21. Since you can't send Ohlins shocks to the factory. Where would you send them for service? And trust and valve correctly?
  22. 240-250 mains, thats it.
  23. Eh..you could find someone heading back from the dunes.... I hear there are a few crazy people that drive 6000 miles round trip to go ride in some sand. I think if you break the bike down to the frame with all the guts n stuff still attatched, and then take the rear end off, and the front end off, you might be able to ship it via a shipping company such as AFB, Forward Air, etc. You just have to drain all the fluids, and have it essentially crated. K&T ship their bikes to Cali to go ride out there from time to time from what I hear. and their crates are essentially steel tube frames that the bike bolts to. crazy bastards.. They might as well buy a new truck on the way....
  24. I'll look into it...thanks!!
