For most duner type riders the cub is already a perfect fit. In fact I port them more for the dunes. Not necessarily for more top end but make the power band it has stronger. This just means widening certain ports up and a few other goodies I do. I have never lowered a duner cubs ports down. I know people that do but its those tight woodsy dunes up on the north west coast.

I might be late to this party but this is what I do to get more bottom end out of the Cub. When I degree these in sometimes the casting comes with too much height on the ports. It varies from casting to casting. I will run no base gasket to lower all the ports down. Then bring the transfers back up with the port tool. This leaves the exhaust height lower. I also turn down the base to get it even lower and again bring the transfers back up with the porting tool. Its no big secret. I would personally run a stock jug cylinder if I already had the stock jugs.

Anyone have a stock flywheel and stator for sale. Cash or stuff for trade also. Stock true and welded crank on hand. Piston kits and other banshee stuff. Porting your motor also an option.

+4 will be a wild ride for sure! While your saving for bigger carbs I will have N down 1-5 overrides in stock and ready to ship. Nothing better than not having to clutch when shifting. Have the stock under clutch cover Sling Shot lockouts in stock too. These are great for that stealth look. Yes, you can go broke doing this.

Center it. Shift it by hand. Does it come out of adjustment? Call Jeff at FAST and get a new shift shaft setup.

Cushions should not be different sizes. Not sure I'm understanding the slop issue? The claw that grabs the dowel like pins to shift is sloppy? Its just a little tension spring that holds it. It should move with very Little tension on it.

You shift star has been moded. That helps a lot for shifting. Replace your bushings on the basket. I found if you replace your clutch cable and handle with a nice aftermarket one it helps. Also make sure your clutch is adjusted corectly.

I dont think the Raptor has a chance.

One side sounds lean. Check the plugs. Check for air leaks with carb spray, WD40, brake spray.

Get some taller tires, 21 or 22s The 18s are killing you! Are you taking off in 2nd gear?

I hear ya! I keep it cheap and fast. Like my motors :biggrin: People sometimes freak when I say I ship it in a cardboard box. I will ship it any way they want. I will put it in a steel box if they want me to. Customer gets what they want.

I know, I thought it was the best way when I first started. Problems I have... 1) Its heavy $$$ and cost to much to build or buy. 2) Takes to much time to secure the motor to the crate. Straps or bolted. 3) Shipper never secures the motor to the crate or packs it tight so the motor doesn't beat itself to death. I have seen the motor beat its way out of the crate! Oh it wasn't pretty! From my experience its the shipper that never packs the motor tight. I mean that motor should not move it what ever package it is in. You should be able to roll the box, container or cooler across the floor and never hear or feel the motor move inside the package.

Both coolers and plastic containers work good. I even use cardboard boxes. The trick is to get it packed tight. No part of the motor should be exposed to the packaged wall. Don't use blankets pillows or old clothes. You will get a cracked motor for sure on both accounts. The spray foam in the plastic bag works good. I have access to free laser cut high density foam. I pack all my motors back to the customer in a cardboard box unless it came in a cooler or plastic container. I have never had a wooden crate make it to me in good condition. Always have to ship it back in a cardboard box. I have also never had a motor damaged going back knock on wood.

Never too busy to do your motor. 2 weeks unless I say something else.
