  1. He is running a stock frame and suspension on street tires. He has no slicks or skinnies yet. He just started. I think AZCUSTOMQUADS is making some stuff for him right now. Also think he has tires coming. I think his best time is 11.2 right now. He
  2. Well that is plenty safe.
  3. What's the total number count coming out to Glamis? Trying to figure out how much crap I need to bring out to suck all your money up.
  4. I know I go against the grain here but I cut all my pistons up. The only two I had ever go bad is when someone else did it. I see your pictures and they look fine as far as the window cut. Are they cutting the side skirt also? Tight radius on that area and they let go. I would guess on a detonation problem like dajogejr said. You would start with your UCCR or static PSI. Cut of your dome. Clearance of your piston ATDC. Timing plays into this also. What are you running for ignition? You still have a bridged intake right? I have seen people cut the bridge out and wonder why the pistons keep breaking on the intake side
  5. Hey hotbutta I know the quotes might seem high but the work is well worth it. I know the weak points on that bike and can get good reliable power out of it. It takes a lot of time to get out of it what we had. Like I said you can always get the cheaper work done. Just wont have the same power hit.
  6. Wow, didn't see that coming. I thought you guys were better than that. Why does everyone like to slam everyone else. Really what do you get out of it. Life is too short to be pissy at anyone. I use carb caps, sometimes necessary depending on the cable and carb :ermm: I'm going to go eat some tofu now
  7. Not in the 1/8 in the 1/4 mile. Bam will be running 1/4 with this setup.
  8. Don't let Tony scare you bam_Banshee_02. I know what I'm doing. Already have a 120mph gas 4 mil cub running on the asphalt. Unlike some builders I stick with you. If we cant get your motor to perform to our expectations with testing and tuning I will personally rip it apart and redo do it for free! I don't clown around.
  9. This guy is getting a sick setup. Full drag port 4 mil cub. Domes to run 110 octane at elevation. Sling shot lockout and 1-5 override. 39 PWK's with Chariot billet intake. Shearer two out one side small bore. Need to contact SlowerThanYou for tire, swinger and wheelie bar setup. Get with AZCUSTOMQUADS for any arms and swingers you need. We have some good guys here that will get your bike dialed in. I can build the motor but setting up for asphalt is not my strong point. Use the guys here and at atvdragracers.com
  10. HA HA! Seems like that happens to everyone that puts on aftermarket carbs. Make sure those slides clear the throat of the carb at WOT.
  11. What are using for fuel? What is your static PSI?
  12. bonbon that is a great picture you have in your sig!
  13. Run a 17cc dome and +7 on the timing if riding hard in the dunes. That should put you at 180 PSI and still be good and safe. Keep the squish at .045 to .050
  14. I never had a problem with them overheating but could never get a cost per horse power ratio I wanted out of them. I think 4 and 7 mil cranks in the stock sleeves and head do real well for a sleeper. Cost per horse power ratio is worth that build.
  15. Now that looks like fun!
  16. Sorry kadillacman I overlooked that you had my port job. That might be slightly lean in the main. I would start with 160 mains. Whats the temp and elevation? Where is the air screw set at on the carbs? What position is the clip on the needle? You can always give me a ring, PM or email me.
  17. Let us know how it goes.
  18. I am! Going to go to Jeffs for some good prices!
  19. Ha Ha I cant believe you wasted your time on this thread.
  20. Jeff is what makes this site nice to hang out on. Good people and great prices on those sale items.
  21. Worry about the smoke later. First check the compression to make sure the rings are ok. Go back over the work you did and check it good. Sounds like an air leak to me. We have run into this and like dajogejr said you will shit yourself when it first happens to you. The first time I thought we melted the engine down. Sounded like it revved to 15,000 RPM!
  22. Best respect the old muscle. That is one of the good ones.
  23. Another Coos Bay port job. I would love to check those dunes out. Someone is flying high in that picture.
  24. Who built the carbs? Go back and get some help from him. I would need to know the main jet size and what power jet you using if any. What needle and pilot. That's only if the bike is running good to begin with.
  25. No worries, I can still out run him. Plus the deer meat will be gone before he even knows it is here. He wont touch the hot stuff anyhow.
